The End EPILOGUE - WEEK 740 Narrators End ; Wake up, Narrators. You've done well this past weekend. As you awaken on this beautiful morning, the doors to the castle are wide open and a festive mood fills the air. Music can be heard from the garden and the ballroom, the dining room's overflowing with tasty treats and beverages, and everything is awash in a soft glow of purples, reds, and golds. Yet as you exit from your dormitories for the last time, several things will be noticeable to you... Lining the hallways, several new ornate mirrors flank either wall. Each mirror is engraved with the name of a Narrator and allows each participant of this war to view their world back home. They will be able to see who they wish to see and the current state of affairs in their world. They will also, thanks to their adventures in the Other Space, be able to view the future of their home worlds and what's at stake for them. No matter where they are in the castle, each Narrator will also find themselves presented with a leatherbound book, a jar of ink and a fresh quill. As they open the book they will see a write-up of their story up until now with several blank pages at the end of the book. As promised, the ink won by the Dragon's ending is enough to allow Narrators to write their own happy endings... even those that directly clash with what they've been able to witness for themselves in the mirrors. Go ahead, write yourself into the universe of another Narrator. The story is yours to tell. Alternatively - if you seek to write a new story for yourself entirely, additional pages will be provided for you to draft up that fresh start. Meanwhile, the longer you linger around the castle it will become clear that it's much noisier than it should be for only forty people. Venturing further downstairs you will find several guests waiting for you. Some of these may be people you know from your own worlds, brought here to take you home thanks to the extra magic obtained from the Other Space. Others are past participants from previous rounds of this war, battle stories and triumphs to share. Apparently they'd received an invitation to a celebration to mark the end of it all. Even those who had died from previous rounds and not revived are present. While it had been thought that they'd been lost in the Other Side when there was not enough ink to revive them - it appears that they'd been given new life via your efforts. The clock in the foyer seems to have stopped. Take all the time you need to say your goodbyes... you are in charge of your own destiny from here on out. Welcome to your farewell log, everyone! A couple of fun notes for your perusal. Due to the efforts of characters yesterday in the mini-adventures, characters have unlocked the ability to preview their futures and decide their own destinies. Additionally, they have unlocked the ability for castmates to visit them in the castle, along with characters who have participated in previous rounds of the war! [ After being convinced by the Narrators, the Dragon has ultimately determined that if the Narrators are comfortable writing new stories for her and the Tiger with their own ink - they are free to do so.

The only caveat is the Dragon and the Tiger must both exist in the new story. One cannot exist without the other - as it has always been.

He's stroking Dazai's back gently, but when he notices someone approach he'll give a slightly awkward smile.]

[Dazai can be found by himself later, but right now he's gotta cry on his teacher some more.]

[Obligatory prompt for not wanting Eichi to try and drag you to idol world... He's sick, still, it seems, coughing and so on, but he doesn't look nearly as pale as he has been the past couple of weeks. He's moving cheerfully, even if a little slow, and it looks like he's happy about it all.]

Unfortunately, that means everybody else around can also see exactly what's in store for her and it's not great. Even though she's definitely the one that set fire to this particular interaction.

She frowns at the mirror and pulls away.]

[Later she can be found in the library looking at her own leather bound book.

She's made her promises, she's not going to break them now.]

[Well...this is the end, isn't it? It's a little hard to believe given he's been here for as long as he has, but he finds himself waking up the next morning to the bustling of the castle and heading out to explore.

There are way too many people here and he does his best to bypass them, checking out the mirrors and picking up a snack from the dining hall before deciding...well. There are probably some people he should say goodbye to.

He doesn't often approach on his own, but he does make himself comfortable against the wall as he people-watches. Eventually though, he'll speak up.]

[LOOKS LIKE THIS IS IT HUH... Wow. Despite the fact that Souji had spent most of last night reminiscing and talking about things being over soon, it still hadn't really prepared him for it. He's left caught somewhere between giddy delight that things had ended so well, and something melancholic because... it's sad?? Honestly, it's sad to think that he won't be getting up every morning to eat with the people here or laugh with them or get into stupid shenanigans between all the SUFFERING THEY WERE DOING, even if he is excited to go home and see everyone again.

That said, it's only with bright enthusiasm that he greets people, still healthy as he'd been Saturday morning. He flits from person to person, snack table to snack table. Anyone he approaches will be greeted with:
A) Something shoved into your hands! Wonder what it is...
B) A BIG OL' HUG from one formerly-wheezy yeet.
C) Something a little softer; just a gentle smile as he pats the seat next to him, inviting you over.]

Gi-gan doesn't seem particularly inclined to seek many of them out, herself. She's old. She's lived awhile - most of her story is already finished. But for many of the people here, their stories are just beginning, and they're reuniting with people who clearly mean a lot to them.

That, at least, brings a small smile to her face as she smokes her pipe. She doesn't want to interrupt, but she'll linger until a certain green dragon is ready to take his leave. In the meantime, she'll actually smile at anyone who comes close.]

[the hull of a ship. two Akechis-- one dressed in purple and gray, one dressed in brown. a rising wall. the sharp rapport of a gunshot. and then noting but red and black]

[it leaves very little to the imagination, and yet. . . Akechi doesn't seem bothered? resigned and rueful, but not bothered. anyway, he stands with his book, quill and ink tucked under his arms, and won't speak to anyone unless spoken to first]

[There's a brilliant flash of light and the flapping of wings as all at once an angel appears. The woman, dressed like an proper warrior princess, lowers herself down to the ground and smiles. She pretty obviously seems to be looking for someone--or multiple someones. Aside from that, she's looking a little shy, but she seems friendly enough to talk to anyone who's curious enough to approach her!]

[There's a second, when he turns around a corner and sees her, where Dazai doesn't believe what he's seeing. He's frozen in place, scarcely even breathing. Maybe this is a dream. Maybe he'll wake up and his daughter won't be there-

But this is their happy ending. It wouldn't be right not to be able to see her again.

Luckily she's a capable warrior princess, because he throws himself at her in a hug and it would suck if he knocked her over.]

[This is...alarming, but alright. He's almost in a good mood, actually, as he roams the castle with his sword at his hip and the sun from the windows warming his face. He knows saying goodbye isn't entirely permanent, but simultaneously he's delaying it for a bit longer.

He has to wait for Reyna and Magnus, after all.

As such, he can be found looking into the mirror on the wall, frowning in thought as he attempts to navigate through what his future might hold. He's pretty lost in thought on that, please feel free to tell him to move out of the way.

[She can also be found in the halls of the castle. While she's not nearly as friendly as she could be, given it's Sharpay, some people will receive an almost-smile from her as she flutters her fingertips in a wave.]

There's one more funeral waiting for her back at home, after all.

The future is going to be bright from now on, no matter what it may be, I'm sure.

If you're the nosy sort, the pages haven't been written in yet, and she seems to be lost in deep thought about it.

Well - it's not like that's how it has to be.

[Jae-ha writes two changes. He doesn't seem to care who looks over his shoulder. They read:

From that day forward, the Four Dragons found that they no longer were limited to shorter lifespans after a new dragon is born. Instead they were free to live the rest of their days just as humans did - and the same was true of every dragon that came after them. The binds of Kouka's kingdom no longer contained them either - and they were free to explore the entire world and beyond at their leisure.

And he hums a happy note, incredibly satisfied with himself.]
