EPILOGUE ;
EPILOGUE - WEEK 7 Wake up, Narrators. You've done well this past weekend. As you awaken on this beautiful morning, the doors to the castle are wide open and a festive mood fills the air. Music can be heard from the garden and the ballroom, the dining room's overflowing with tasty treats and beverages, and everything is awash in a soft glow of purples, reds, and golds. Yet as you exit from your dormitories for the last time, several things will be noticeable to you... Lining the hallways, several new ornate mirrors flank either wall. Each mirror is engraved with the name of a Narrator and allows each participant of this war to view their world back home. They will be able to see who they wish to see and the current state of affairs in their world. They will also, thanks to their adventures in the Other Space, be able to view the future of their home worlds and what's at stake for them. No matter where they are in the castle, each Narrator will also find themselves presented with a leatherbound book, a jar of ink and a fresh quill. As they open the book they will see a write-up of their story up until now with several blank pages at the end of the book. As promised, the ink won by the Dragon's ending is enough to allow Narrators to write their own happy endings... even those that directly clash with what they've been able to witness for themselves in the mirrors. Go ahead, write yourself into the universe of another Narrator. The story is yours to tell. Alternatively - if you seek to write a new story for yourself entirely, additional pages will be provided for you to draft up that fresh start. Meanwhile, the longer you linger around the castle it will become clear that it's much noisier than it should be for only forty people. Venturing further downstairs you will find several guests waiting for you. Some of these may be people you know from your own worlds, brought here to take you home thanks to the extra magic obtained from the Other Space. Others are past participants from previous rounds of this war, battle stories and triumphs to share. Apparently they'd received an invitation to a celebration to mark the end of it all. Even those who had died from previous rounds and not revived are present. While it had been thought that they'd been lost in the Other Side when there was not enough ink to revive them - it appears that they'd been given new life via your efforts. The clock in the foyer seems to have stopped. Take all the time you need to say your goodbyes... you are in charge of your own destiny from here on out. ![]() Welcome to your farewell log, everyone! A couple of fun notes for your perusal. Due to the efforts of characters yesterday in the mini-adventures, characters have unlocked the ability to preview their futures and decide their own destinies. Additionally, they have unlocked the ability for castmates to visit them in the castle, along with characters who have participated in previous rounds of the war! Please feel free to tag in with your gamemates' castmates or other characters from previous rounds that you can make your own Grimm AU for. If you want to share where your character is going, comment here. Your final CR chart is here, your TL;CR meme is here and your friending/love meme is here. Thank you guys so much for a wonderful eight weeks! We hope you had a magical experience here with us. ♥

[Sousei, why]
I believe that is the most honest you have been with me this entire ridiculous experience. You have people around you now, who will keep you on track as best they are able. Believe in them, and believe in yourself.
You can repent, and do better. I believe in that. But you must believe in it to truly be able to do so.
[A pause, and he shakes his head.]
But it does not have to be right now, at this very moment. Now, you have time.

[what the fuck!!!]
[what is this belief Sousei, of all people, has in him!!]
I-- why do you believe in me, after everything I've said to you?
no subject
[Sousei quirks an eyebrow at Akechi in response.]
I have seen your toils and your struggles, and I have seen the wrongs you have committed.
And I believe that the person you are, right here and right now... can take those steps to be better.
no subject
Sousei-san. . .
[. . .]
[ahaha. . .]
I suppose we'll see what future I can write for myself from here, then.
no subject
[Sousei just waves a hand at that, though, nodding once to Akechi.]
That was all I had to say to you.
[Sousei sucks at goodbyes.]
no subject
Oh. . .? Does this mean you're saying goodbye for good?
no subject
That's correct.
[Sousei is so business-like about it, really...]
I have a duty to return to, and so that is what I shall do.
no subject
It seems a shame for things to end here. How will you know that I am maintaining the path to redemption?
no subject
Don't overestimate your importance in my life. I have things to return to.
[oUCH.]
... Besides. I do not believe, once you have a taste of doing better, that you will be willing to return to the person who could never be honest with the people around him. It is... simply a hunch.
no subject
That's quite rude to say to your fellow Historian, you know. . .
[maybe he likes you Sousei and wants to keep in touch]
You could at least write letters, to see how I'm doing.
[or Akechi could write to Sousei. EITHER-OR]
no subject
... I've recently undermined the army. [SOUSEI WHY] I did so to expose corruption at its root, and remove a piece of the army that needed to be excised.
[...]
I believe I will be joining the navy next, when I return home. If your letters can find me there... then yes, I suppose I will write back.
no subject
Then perhaps, if I feel like it, I will attempt to send one to you.
["perhaps"]
I'll simply write the ability into my future, so long as you write the ability to receive letters into yours.
no subject
Hm... very well then. I suppose I have more than enough spare ink for that.
Are you satisfied, now?
no subject
[tsundere until the end, it seems. in some ways]
At long last, this nightmare is over. We can breathe easily. At least, for a time.
no subject
[aka he hopes Akechi gets to live peacefully, but he's firmly aware that he himself is going to pretty much just spend all of his time committing treason and things like that.]
But you are correct. It is our path now to walk, and not at the command of any other.
no subject
That level of freedom. . . it's almost overwhelming. I'm not so certain what I should do with it.
no subject
Perhaps that should be your first task, then. Return with the others. And then think long and hard on what would be the best use of your newfound freedom.
no subject
[a beat]
I believe I'm going to become an idol.
[this is CURSED CONTENT Cal]
no subject
Live...your best life...
Actual content of Sousei rn.]
... Right.
Well.
I don't believe I can give advice to that matter, so I shall simply wish you the best of luck with it.
no subject
I have a bit of experience in being a celebrity already, so it may not be luck that I need. But thank you.
no subject
[A simple nod, and:]
That was all I had to say. I have others I wish to say farewell to, so I believe this is goodbye, Akechi.
Do not forget what you've learned here.
[And with that final comment, he turns precisely on his heel to go.]
