CHAPTER SEVEN ; TRIAL
CHAPTER 7 - WEEK 7 Wakey wakey, naughty murder children. It's a lovely Saturday, after all. Breakfast is served piping hot at its usual time and all of the evidence has been removed from the scenes of yesterday. No matter how you choose to spent your morning though, the clock will begin to chime the moment both hands reach the large, ornate twelve. Before your eyes materializes a door...but not just any door. Unlike the door leading to the festival, this door sits primly and properly right in front of the foyer. Whether you exit the castle on your own or you feel a friendly, invisible push, you begin to walk under an arc of wisterias. Behind you, the clock continues to chime with every step you take. By the time the time the clock strikes twelve, you've entered a beautiful garden. In front of you is a long table, 19 seats on each side. Around the garden are several glass cases containing evidence collected yesterday. As noon intensifies on the sun-shaped clock, you'll find Dragon at the head of the table, a glass-covered rose near her right hand. Tick tock, Narrators. You have nine hours to deliberate. The garden is strangely silent and there are no snacks today...it seems as though you'll be left to your own devices. ![]() Welcome to your trial post! Please see here for the OOC summary of events from yesterday's investigation. In addition, please be sure to vote! Please see the voting page on how to vote, as we will have two special things to vote for. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST or sooner if the game ICly elects so. If you have any questions, please ask on our Discord server or ping us on plurk. Please direct pings for the NPC to Dana (

BETWIXT & BETWEEN;
With the next inhale - the mirrors floating in the garden begin to crack into faint spiderwebs that cover the entire face of the glass. Flickers of faces reflect in the shattered pieces. Faces of the Narrators who have disappeared and - others? Perhaps there are some familiar faces from home being shown to you before they flicker away again.
Dragon looks down at her own open palms, small sparks of light emanating from her fingertips. ]
... It's time.
[ Picking up her skirts, she moves to the entrance of the garden and with a glowing fingertip writes some letters into the air - Narrators won't be able to recognize the language - and there appears to be a rip in the fabric of the very air itself as a new doorway opens. She opens the doorway and turns back to those in the garden. ]
If I may make a request... come with me. There are people waiting for you.
[ The doorway will lead to a new space. A nebulous, dark room that resembles the ballroom - but lit only by large stained glass glowing surfaces. Two thrones sit at one end of the room, long table in front of them. Dragon places the glass encased rose on the table. Only once all living Narrators come into the room does the door close behind them.
A beat passes.
The doors open again, slowly - and dead Narrators step in next. Dead Narrators will find that they cannot touch the living, but they are not barred from speaking as many words to them as they wish - in a moment, anyway.
For now, everyone is silenced as Dragon reads over a scroll that she finds on the long table at the head of the room. Her brow furrows as she reads it over and then out loud: ]
Depending on course, you may save others from breathing their last.
Walk in the footsteps of legends, treacherous though it may be.
For the brave of heart, there shall be rewards aplenty.
[ With that incantation - more doors will appear in the room. Dragon eyes them all warily, before going to approach them first. Her hand reaches out to them, as if evaluating...
Then she will turn to the Narrators again.]
... it appears you have more choices to make.
MINI-ADVENTURES
We recommend groups that you're capable of comfortably threading quickly in, as characters will be given small assignments that they can fulfill. OOCly, you can have the knowledge that this will yield results that will shape the farewell log! ICly, they're going into the wild blue yonder. :')
Please comment here with your groups and the mods will give you something to do for the next 6 hours (probably shorter). Groups are encouraged to be a mix of the living and the dead. ]

Instinctively, they will know that they have to accomplish three things in order to obtain three keys.
-They must rescue a gorgeous, multi-colored fish ensnared in a net out in the middle of the water.
-They must fight and kill two electric eels that will try to lure them further into the ocean.
-They must create a sand castle at least four feet tall.
For each completed task, they will also receive one silver key.
Upon finishing the sand castle, the ground will rumble and a larger castle will rise above them. They will be ushered inside and encouraged to find the heart. They may wish to stay together or split up, but exploration of the castle will net them one (1) chest with three key holes.
Once your characters find the chest, please reply to this comment so we can let them know what they’ve found!

I'm sorry for my behavior. And I'm sorry I made Tiger a dress and not you when I like you better in the first place? It was mostly because I was terrified of her but - I don't even know if she wore it and I still don't like her even if I sympathize more now-
[Nervous babbling. He shuts up for a second, then tries again.]
I can make you a dress later, if you want.

It’s difficult for me to feel optimistic in this situation. How do you feel tthough, Lady Dragon?
