CHAPTER SEVEN ; TRIAL
CHAPTER 7 - WEEK 7 Wakey wakey, naughty murder children. It's a lovely Saturday, after all. Breakfast is served piping hot at its usual time and all of the evidence has been removed from the scenes of yesterday. No matter how you choose to spent your morning though, the clock will begin to chime the moment both hands reach the large, ornate twelve. Before your eyes materializes a door...but not just any door. Unlike the door leading to the festival, this door sits primly and properly right in front of the foyer. Whether you exit the castle on your own or you feel a friendly, invisible push, you begin to walk under an arc of wisterias. Behind you, the clock continues to chime with every step you take. By the time the time the clock strikes twelve, you've entered a beautiful garden. In front of you is a long table, 19 seats on each side. Around the garden are several glass cases containing evidence collected yesterday. As noon intensifies on the sun-shaped clock, you'll find Dragon at the head of the table, a glass-covered rose near her right hand. Tick tock, Narrators. You have nine hours to deliberate. The garden is strangely silent and there are no snacks today...it seems as though you'll be left to your own devices. ![]() Welcome to your trial post! Please see here for the OOC summary of events from yesterday's investigation. In addition, please be sure to vote! Please see the voting page on how to vote, as we will have two special things to vote for. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST or sooner if the game ICly elects so. MINI-ADVENTURES
We recommend groups that you're capable of comfortably threading quickly in, as characters will be given small assignments that they can fulfill. OOCly, you can have the knowledge that this will yield results that will shape the farewell log! ICly, they're going into the wild blue yonder. :')
Please comment here with your groups and the mods will give you something to do for the next 6 hours (probably shorter). Groups are encouraged to be a mix of the living and the dead. ]

Instinctively, they will know that they have to accomplish three things in order to obtain three keys.
-They must rescue a gorgeous, multi-colored fish ensnared in a net out in the middle of the water.
-They must fight and kill two electric eels that will try to lure them further into the ocean.
-They must create a sand castle at least four feet tall.
For each completed task, they will also receive one silver key.
Upon finishing the sand castle, the ground will rumble and a larger castle will rise above them. They will be ushered inside and encouraged to find the heart. They may wish to stay together or split up, but exploration of the castle will net them one (1) chest with three key holes.
Once your characters find the chest, please reply to this comment so we can let them know what they’ve found!

—well that’s unfortunate, they’re standing on the rooftop of a large building. The stars are out and the night is young, urging the group forward. With towers flanking either side, this group will have to leap from roof to roof to accomplish four things in order to obtain four keys.
-They must round up six (6) geese to place in a coop.
-They must scale a tall tower to get to their next location.
-They must find a clock tower and set the hands to midnight.
-They must shed tears on a bed of flowers and warm them from the chill night air.
For each completed task, they will also receive one silver key.
Upon completing their last task, the flowers will bloom and swallow them up, encouraging them to dive into the heart. They may wish to stay together or split up, but exploration of this dark tunnel will net them one (1) chest with four key holes.

Yeah. A farm. Congratulations! Surrounded by the sounds of farm animals and the calm winds across the wheat fields, this group will have to venture across the landscape to obtain three keys by completing the following tasks.
-They must collect water from a nearby river with nothing but their bare hands to fill a nearby trough.
-They must clear the rafters of the barn from large birds such as owls and ravens.
-They must rescue a baby duckling from a large, lurking predator such as a fox.
For each completed task, they will also receive one silver key.
Upon completing their last task, the doors of a horse stable will swing open. They may wish to stay together or split up, but exploration of this building will reveal one (1) chest with three key holes.

The maze is doted with beautiful flowers, multiple pathways, topiary and more. The group will be relieved to know there isn’t a minotaur here, but they must obtain three keys by completing the following tasks.
-They must follow the pathways and pick the path that’s just right to ensure they don’t reach a dead end. The wrong path will either be too hot, too cold, too big or too small.
-Upon entering the right tunnel, they must outrace it and keep ahead of several vines and flowers that will be deterring them and trying to trip them up.
-They must look carefully and find a set of footprints that they then must follow no matter where they lead, including through cramped tunnels, shallow streams, mushroom fields and more.
For each completed task, they will also receive one silver key.
Upon completing their last task and exiting the path, the footprints will disappear and they’ll find themselves in front of a cottage and a castle. They must choose which one to enter. Entering the cottage will bring them face to face with a blonde little girl wielding a knife! Entering the castle however will bring them face to face with a large pumpkin-esque creature, a carriage come to life that will try to run them over. They will have to defeat either of these creatures and in doing so they will receive one (1) chest with three key holes.

Even with the sweltering sun, the group will be aware they must complete several tasks and obtain four keys.
-They must steal three apples without getting caught! Guards will be on-alert and if they aren’t careful they will be chased through the bazaar.
-They must create a cooling system and save two children from the heat while they hide from the guards of the marketplace.
-They must break into someone’s home and raid their belongings.
-They must follow the trail of jewels at their feet out of the marketplace and into the woods.
For each completed task, they will also receive one silver key.
Upon completing their last task and exiting the bazaar, they will find themselves walking away from the heat and into a dark, wooded clearing. They will also find themselves approaching a sugarspun house at the end and they must approach the house. As they reach for the handle, they will find themselves stuck to the structure. Together, they will need to figure out how to break the house apart and find one (1) chest with four (4) key holes at the center.

Instinctively, they will know that they have to accomplish three things in order to obtain three keys.
- Be "late" to their execution by escaping from the dunegon.
- Fake a death by use of a sleeping potion.
- Find and convince the queen of the castle to pardon them of their crimes.
For each completed task, they will also receive one silver key.
Once the queen has pardoned them, they will be escorted to the castle grounds and loaded into a carriage to leave the kingdom. They keep the carriage along the path - a harder task than it sounds, as the horses that pull it are prone to wander. So long as they stick to the path, at the end of it they will find a chest with three silver locks.

Instinctively, they will know that they have to accomplish four things in order to obtain four keys.
- Trick the pirates to granting them passage onto the pirate ship via fake names.
- Find an entire dress made out of swan feathers in the cargo of the ship and wear it.
- Sew a matching dress out of some other items that they find in the cargo of the ship. Get creative!
- But when the pirates discover them, try giving one of them a shove into a spinning wheel inside the ship – they’ll be knocked unconsciously immediately.
For each completed task, they will also receive one silver key.
Upon completing all three of these tasks, they will have to run and fight their way to the pirate captain’s quarters. They’ll have to work quickly in order to find a chest with four silver locks somewhere amidst all of his belongings.

Instinctively, they will know that they have to accomplish four things in order to obtain four keys.
- Upon exploring through the warehouse for a time, there will be a knock on the door. They will have to find the goodness in their hearts to let in a pair of elderly siblings into the warehouse.
- … only to discover that they seem to be interested in painting the furniture with the blood of the quartet. The twins will leave a trail of blood in their wake – use that in order to avoid them in the maze.
-In the middle of the maze, they'll enter a large open space surrounded by furniture. They will have to trick the twins into a dance of some sort, twirling and spinning them to get them to back off. Confusing them will help them to dodge them a bit longer.
- Ultimately, the two must meet their end by being crushed underneath a wardrobe – or other large furniture piece of your choice.
For each completed task, they will also receive one silver key.
Upon completing all four of these tasks, they will have to find their way to the other end of the maze. At the end – upon climbing a mountain of bean bags– they’ll find a chest with four locks for each of their keys.

Instinctively, they will know that they have to accomplish two things in order to obtain two keys.
- Identify three things they come across while following the map that have been tampered with.
- Cut off the hand of a pirate who is attempting to find the treasure before they do.
For each completed task, they will also receive one silver key.
Upon completing both of these tasks, they will find the location where X marks the spot. They must dig down - and when they do, they will drop into an underground cavern, which can and should be explored. After it has been explored in its entirety, they will find the buried treasure - a chest with two silver locks - and an exit to the surface.
