The Story Continues... PROLOGUE - WEEK 0??? Narrators Remain ; The clock begins to chime, and on the first note, curfew lifts. Your doors swing open, whether you are ready or not. Leaving your room is a blur. The person you fell asleep beside — are they still there? Have they vanished? Were they ever there at all? You can't seem to recall clearly. What you are most aware of is the pervading sense of wrongness in the air, and how you can't hear anything but the chime of the clock. Even the sounds of your own voice and your own footsteps do not reach your ears. By the time the time the clock strikes nine, you know one thing to be true: blood has been spilt. Search the castle carefully — you wouldn't want to miss a single important detail, would you...? Welcome to your first investigation post! This time, as it is tutorial week, we will be posting toplevels for searchable locations; moving forward, you will post your own toplevels for locations you wish to searh. Evidence — or lack thereof — will be noted in these threads. We ask that group threads consist of no more than 3-4 characters. After the discovery of the body (or bodies) and any pertinent evidence, an IC announcement concluding the investigation will go up. You are then free to make your own toplevels on this post for any threads you would like to have between the end of the investigation and the start of the trial. [Upon entering the kitchen, they'll first notice that it seems as if it hasn't been used for breakfast. But, hey, maybe there's more farther inside.]

Monika-chan.

[A soft smile for her, but very quickly Sanji turns all business, nodding briefly to Sousei and then continuing further in. He... doesn't tiptoe, but he's not really striding in, either.

Really he just wants to make sure no one touched his shit]

[ Monika doesn't say anything. Instead she'll catch up to Sanji and slip her hand into his.

Still, she is looking around. Is there anything else in here to find? ]

[A nod in response to Sanji!!

And in they go, deeper into the kitchen to properly investigate. What's going on in here?]

[First of all, Sanji, someone has definitely been touching all your shit. All of the knives appear to have been stolen. Well, okay, all of the sharp knives appear to have been stolen. There are still plenty of butter knives.

Oh, and there's a body in the back of the kitchen, resting against the bottom cupboards.]

[concasse]

[Sanji notices the knives gone, of course he does--

But that body, are you for fuckin real? He is beelining for it, please do not be dead--]

which is to say Monika swallows a shriek, both her hands flying to her face.

unable to bring herself to get close, she hangs back, and as a result happens to notice all those missing knives. ]

... what? But why--

[Yeah he notices the knives but the body is more worrisome. He'll let Sanji make that beeline, stepping after him a bit less directly to try to keep an eye on the kitchen around the body.

Anything going on around here?]

[Aside from the missing knives and the body, it looks like the kitchen's been completely untouched. Nothing else is amiss.

But, as for the body, they'll notice it right away as ya green dragon boi, Jae-Ha.]

[concasse]

[Just.





He's got nothing, guys.]

[ Completely silent, Monika will hesitate for a moment before stepping forward.

Soon she joins Sanji, kneeling at his side.

Ashen, she'll reach out to touch Jae-ha's face. What kind of state is he in? ]

[disilluded]

[He doesn't look surprise (but does he ever, really), but Sousei's hands clench into fists as he processes just who it is who's lying here. Monika and Sanji are both close to Jae-ha, so he remains standing behind them, alert and eyes fixed on Jae-ha.

... What a fucker.]

[They can all take a deep breath. It's much clearer once they reach him that Jae-ha is still very much alive. He's just sleeping! Apparently deeply. Monika will see as she touches his face that his eyes are heavy, tired, and baggy.]

But if Sanji FUCKIN SHAKES HIM AWAKE WILL THIS MOTHER FUCKER OPEN HIS EYES]

Oi oi oi!! The hell are you doing on the floor, scaring people?!

[ Monika, on the other hand, simply sits back on her heels and dissolves into tears. The emotional whiplash just overwhelms her defenses and she can't hold them back.

So hopefully Jae-ha enjoys being thoroughly manhandled because after Sanji shakes him Monika will throw her arms around this stranger,

which is helpful. ]

[Very helpful, Sanji and Monika.

As per the rest of the tags in this thread, Sousei is going to helpfully stand back and watch.

[and because Jae-ha sucks, he's naturally going to enjoy the shaking more than the actual crying. but no he was totally into that, even if he's more than a little bit startled

when there's suddenly a crying girl in his arms he's going to just. immediately hold her and bring a hand up to brush her hair aside because he should at least see who he's consoling]

[Right so the moral of the story here is never trust a pirate.]

[Once Jae-Ha is awake, Sanji is up and standing, shoulders bunched and ready to storm off to check the rest of the kitchen, though he'll throw a request over his shoulder]

Monika-chan, can you explain shit to him? I'm gonna see if there's anything out of place here.

[recoda]

[ JUST ... SOBS, ONCE, WHEN JAE-HA STARTS HOLDING HER? why is any of this happening.

Sanji's request helps ground her, and she'll sit up, wiping at her face. ]

Sorry... [ She clears her throat. ] We all woke up to total silence, and the clock chiming... when we came to investigate, you were just here, unconscious on the floor. We ... we thought you were dead!

[disilluded]

[Hm. Well.

This part of the manor seems happily safe, so he's going to nod briefly to... possibly no one if Monika and Jae-ha are focused on each other which is pretty fair (thanks Sousei), before he turns on his heel to go.

There's still a lot of rooms to check out and everything seems mostly put together here, and he trusts Sanji will look after Monika while he's exploring the kitchen. He's just not the sort to hang around once he's seen the situation for himself.

[Hey, don't go too far Sousei. There's a suit of armor blocking your pathway out of the kitchen. It begins to breakdance, then abruptly stops and points at you and each of the others, waiting for a challenge.]

and it luckily cuts off whatever dumb suave thing jae-ha was going to shamelessly say in the middle of an investigation, and he'll carefully move so that he's in front of monika now

and squints at the suit of armor]

... is it trying to communicate. Sanji, what is it trying to tell us. Sousei, can you tell?

Why the fuck would I know what it's trying to say?!

[Sanji speaks pervert not breakdance.]

[ Monika doesn't try to stop Jae-ha from acting adorable and manly and protecting her and all, but really her attention is on the suit of armor. Her eyes are a little wide, and though her expression doesn't really change all that much,

if looks could kill,

that armor would spontaneously evaporate.

slowly: ]

Is this some kind of joke?

[What the fuck. Sousei stares flatly at the suit of armor, and then:]

[He's...going to try to shove past it. It's terrible. He'll use his sheathed sword next, don't do this, suit of armor, this can only be terrible.]
