CHAPTER SEVEN ; TRIAL
CHAPTER 7 - WEEK 7 Wakey wakey, naughty murder children. It's a lovely Saturday, after all. Breakfast is served piping hot at its usual time and all of the evidence has been removed from the scenes of yesterday. No matter how you choose to spent your morning though, the clock will begin to chime the moment both hands reach the large, ornate twelve. Before your eyes materializes a door...but not just any door. Unlike the door leading to the festival, this door sits primly and properly right in front of the foyer. Whether you exit the castle on your own or you feel a friendly, invisible push, you begin to walk under an arc of wisterias. Behind you, the clock continues to chime with every step you take. By the time the time the clock strikes twelve, you've entered a beautiful garden. In front of you is a long table, 19 seats on each side. Around the garden are several glass cases containing evidence collected yesterday. As noon intensifies on the sun-shaped clock, you'll find Dragon at the head of the table, a glass-covered rose near her right hand. Tick tock, Narrators. You have nine hours to deliberate. The garden is strangely silent and there are no snacks today...it seems as though you'll be left to your own devices. ![]() Welcome to your trial post! -- Oh, sweet. Okay, uh. Hm.
[ what do sleeping potions look like. can they just find one labeled SLEEP and let magnus chug it. ]
no subject
[DON'T CHUG IT!!
Which is to say, she's immediately zooming to the potions. Maybe they're the ones that have cute Zzzz icons on them? Or just, you know, "sleep" written on them.]
... By the way, who are we going to knock out with this?
no subject
... I think maybe all of us? Or are we just faking one person's death?
no subject
it's fake ass wonderland, so it probably might say "sleep"? or maybe "sweet dreams"? ]
I thought it was just one, but we could just all do it? I call dibs, otherwise. Unless Veronica wants to.
[ he wants sleep. veronica also deserves sleep. does belph need sleep? probably, he doesn't know. ]
no subject
It's a death, isn't it? Besides... If we all do it, who the hell is going to convince an onlooker that you're a corpse? They'd be able to tell if they check your pulse.
[Go forth and sleep, Magnus. Though probably once they get out of the guard central for good.]
no subject
How are we supposed to convince anyone that he's a corpse? I mean, look at us!
no subject
By... I don't know, crying and yelling? It's like... a fantasy land, do they even know what a pulse is? A good sleeping potion should like... slow it down, though.
[ maybe they'll now get close to. idk. some sparkly blue vial with moons and stars in a cloud sticker. whatever. ]
no subject
[Gosh!!
Also, yeah. Let's go with cute stars and clouds and whatever stickers. She finds one and plucks it from wherever they're keeping this shit.]
Does this look like a sleep potion to you guys?
no subject
[he can't even real-cry anymore, don't expect fake-crying from him??]
... I guess...?
no subject
[ it doesn't not look like one? so may as well be one. ]
Where do we want to do this?
no subject
[IS IT?]
Maybe we should get out of this area and find somewhere that has— Um, civilians? Normal people. Not guards.
no subject
[IT'S FINE, EVERYTHING'S FINE.]
Yeaaaah, let's not do this with the guards who threw us in prison, probably.
no subject
[ maybe. ]
They'd probably cheer if one of us seemed to croak. So, let's find a... courtyard or something? Or a banquet hall?
[ where do civilians go in castles. ]
no subject
[PLEASE.]
Courtyard sounds like it'll be easier to get attention? Unless you want to swoon on top of someone's food, Magnus.
[Anyway, she pockets the vial. Off they go!]
no subject
[HE CAN ADMIT TO BEING A TWINK.]
... Well, it's his preference!
[and away!]
no subject
[ there have been no snacks :(
but TO A COURTYARD avoiding guards along the way they go ]
no subject
Fast forward to them reaching the courtyard without getting caught, Veronica stops them before they walk into broad daylight.]
... Okay. How are we doing this, exactly? Are you going to drop dead, or...?
no subject
[unless they actually want belph to fake-punch him.]
no subject
[ but either way, he'll take the potion and Prepare ]
no subject
[If it's the Red Queen, pity seems unlikely?? Either way, she hands the vial over to Magnus.]
Go do your thing. I'll start screaming and crying when you're ready.
no subject
no subject
[ he pauses after unstoppering the vial. ] I have never lived my best life. [ and downs it! it's... sickly sweet. ]
... Huh, I don't think it's--
[ and down he goes.
magnus chase is asleep. ]
no subject
Well.
Down Magnus goes.
Veronica stares at him for a second, like a dumbass, before she just
drops to her knees next to him and starts wailing.]
Ohhhhh, no! He's dead! My [uh] cousin is dead!
[Veronica, you look nothing alike.]
no subject
It's the curse! I told you that it'd take him eventually—just like how it'll take us all!
no subject
magnus continues to have a nice nap. ]
