The Story Continues... CHAPTER 7 - WEEK 711 Narrators Remain ; Wakey wakey, naughty murder children. It's a lovely Saturday, after all. Breakfast is served piping hot at its usual time and all of the evidence has been removed from the scenes of yesterday. No matter how you choose to spent your morning though, the clock will begin to chime the moment both hands reach the large, ornate twelve. Before your eyes materializes a door...but not just any door. Unlike the door leading to the festival, this door sits primly and properly right in front of the foyer. Whether you exit the castle on your own or you feel a friendly, invisible push, you begin to walk under an arc of wisterias. Behind you, the clock continues to chime with every step you take. By the time the time the clock strikes twelve, you've entered a beautiful garden. In front of you is a long table, 19 seats on each side. Around the garden are several glass cases containing evidence collected yesterday. As noon intensifies on the sun-shaped clock, you'll find Dragon at the head of the table, a glass-covered rose near her right hand. Tick tock, Narrators. You have nine hours to deliberate. The garden is strangely silent and there are no snacks today...it seems as though you'll be left to your own devices. Welcome to your trial post! Fast forward to them reaching the courtyard without getting caught, Veronica stops them before they walk into broad daylight.]

... Okay. How are we doing this, exactly? Are you going to drop dead, or...?

[unless they actually want belph to fake-punch him.]

Maybe? ... We have to convince the Queen to pardon us after this, so maybe we can say I caught a deadly disease from the dungeons, and her guards are incompetent? To make her feel bad?

[ but either way, he'll take the potion and Prepare ]

If that doesn't work, we say the disease is a curse and executing us or keeping us imprisoned will spread it across the land.

[If it's the Red Queen, pity seems unlikely?? Either way, she hands the vial over to Magnus.]

Go do your thing. I'll start screaming and crying when you're ready.

... I feel like this has the potential to go very badly, but live your best life, Magnus.

[ he pauses after unstoppering the vial. ] I have never lived my best life. [ and downs it! it's... sickly sweet. ]

[ and down he goes.

magnus chase is asleep. ]

Veronica stares at him for a second, like a dumbass, before she just





drops to her knees next to him and starts wailing.]

Ohhhhh, no! He's dead! My [uh] cousin is dead!

[Veronica, you look nothing alike.]

[belph takes a moment to stare up at the sky and ponder how his life turned out this way, before he steps back from magnus's corpse (?), hand over mouth in fake shock, and—]

It's the curse! I told you that it'd take him eventually—just like how it'll take us all!

[wearys]

[ makes more sense than brother?? maybe?

magnus continues to have a nice nap. ]

[asswipe]

How could this have happened to us?! Now the curse will spread! It'll spread, I tell you!

DROPS HERSELF DRAMATICALLY ON MAGNUS'S CHEST, WAILING MORE LOUDLY. Sorry, Magnus.

At least people are staring now, looking shocked?]

anyhow, belph's whirling around to face the people.]

Get the queen! Her Majesty's guards are incompetent!

[wearys]

While a gaggle of people rushes to fetch the queen or whatever, a key suddenly pops out of nowhere and drops on Magnus's face. Veronica stops wailing long enough to snatch it.

Sweet, sweet corpse loot.]

[wtf veronica don't loot a corpse while fake wailing over it

though that reminds belph, as he hisses to veronica—]

Hey, what crimes are we even being pardoned for here?

[ magnus is proud of her for corpse looting or would be, were he awake.

maybe that's their crime. they're grave robbers. ]

[Grave robbing sounds legit.

Hissing back to Belph:]

[Bullshit their way out of this, it's fine.

Doesn't look like they have a lot of time left now, since the queen approacheth. Veronica resumes her fake wailing because she is Not It.]

[once the queen approacheth, belph promptly throws himself onto the ground, because propriety! thanks a lot, veronica.]

Your Majesty! ["PLEASE DON'T CUT MY HEAD OFF."] Oh, it's terrible! Beyond woe! A curse will soon inflict your land!

[wearys]

[ magnus is glad he's "dead" for this. ]

[asswipe]

[Holy shit, Veronica wishes she had a camera for this. Covering up her snickering with more wailing—]

The curse! God help us all, the corpse curse!

[... Yeah, that made no sense. The queen is just squinting at them, doing as an NPC queen does, experiencing some variation of nani the fuck. Work your magic before she snaps her fingers and kills us all, Belph.]
