CHAPTER SEVEN ; TRIAL
CHAPTER 7 - WEEK 7 Wakey wakey, naughty murder children. It's a lovely Saturday, after all. Breakfast is served piping hot at its usual time and all of the evidence has been removed from the scenes of yesterday. No matter how you choose to spent your morning though, the clock will begin to chime the moment both hands reach the large, ornate twelve. Before your eyes materializes a door...but not just any door. Unlike the door leading to the festival, this door sits primly and properly right in front of the foyer. Whether you exit the castle on your own or you feel a friendly, invisible push, you begin to walk under an arc of wisterias. Behind you, the clock continues to chime with every step you take. By the time the time the clock strikes twelve, you've entered a beautiful garden. In front of you is a long table, 19 seats on each side. Around the garden are several glass cases containing evidence collected yesterday. As noon intensifies on the sun-shaped clock, you'll find Dragon at the head of the table, a glass-covered rose near her right hand. Tick tock, Narrators. You have nine hours to deliberate. The garden is strangely silent and there are no snacks today...it seems as though you'll be left to your own devices. ![]() Welcome to your trial post! I'll do what it takes.
{ Before she can say more, two eels come swimming their way, visible through the water's surface. ]
no subject
She takes a stab at them and totally misses.]
Fuck-
no subject
Oh right, the net!
no subject
If you can trap them, I'll finish them.
[ Hopefully, none of them get electrocuted in the process. ]
no subject
Okay, that's one!
no subject
[ after some wrestling. ]
no subject
so here comes Kyouka!! She goes over to Rebecca first, and with one hand she stabs the eel in the tail with one knitting needle to keep it from thrashing too much. In as quick a motion, she whips out a fork in her other hand, and the fork goes straight in between the eel's eyes.
She drives it in deeper until the eel stops moving. It can't electrocute them if it can't think about it. Probably. ]
no subject
Which she does take but she also grimaces at.
Gross. She doesn't want this, but at least she holds on to it.]
So all that's left is a sandcastle.
... Do we have buckets, or are we just going to make a really tall hill of sand?
no subject
[ please, she's trying to hold it still and it's trying valiantly to swim out to deeper water. ]
no subject
[ Kyouka unsheathes her weapons from the first eel and swims over to do the same with the one Cardia holds: stabs its tail so it can't escape and forks its brain to death.
RIP, Flotsam and Jetsam. ]
no subject
She can't believe she had to hold an electric eel today.
Gross.]
To the shore?
no subject
[ OKAY, GUYS, LET'S TREAD ON BACK. ]
no subject
It takes a moment, but she smiles a little before she follows them back to shore. ]
... I've never built a sand castle.
no subject
[2/3 objectives: DONE!
Time to swim back to shore where Rebecca just shakes the water off- it's not effective, but she feels better.
... She'll just... kneel down and start shoving some sand together.]
What counts as a sandcastle? You usually just pile sand together. It's supposed to be fun. I mean, usually there are buckets and shovels, but we'll just have to work with our hands.
no subject
[ But she'll take off her hat to fill that with sand, too. When in doubt, use what you have. ]
no subject
[ She nods. She will try her best... and mimic exactly what Rebecca is doing. The closest thing she has to shovel is a fork covered in eel guts. ]
How much should we make it look like a castle?
no subject
Hm... well usually there's like sea shells you put on it? And you add some details. But a four foot high sandcastle is... going to be kind of difficult without any tools.
So maybe we don't have to be totally accurate with the castle part? Let's focus on four foot and then deal with the castle part once we've gotten that done.
no subject
[ time to heap up clumps of sand. WE WILL PROBABLY BE AT THIS FOR A WHILE. ]
no subject
Decorating with sea shells sounds like a great time because sea shells are really pretty? Kyouka looks a little jazzed by that.
She picks up handfuls of (dry) sand and dumps them on top of the pile they're making and tilts her head when the sand just.... slides off like sand does.
Hm. ]
no subject
[Luckily for them, they're not that far off from the ocean.]
But if you dig deep enough in the sand- [Rebecca will just do that now.] You can find some already wet sand to use and stack up.
no subject
[ this seems to be aiming more for "tower" than "castle", but they can make it look slightly pretty later. ]
no subject
Kyouka thinks this question is best for Rebecca, so she goes over to where waves meet sand and starts collecting as much wet sand as she can. ]
no subject
[She shrugs!]
I didn't grow up by the beach.
no subject
[ okay, they're apparently going for the grimm record of sand castles here. ]
no subject
I live near a port, but I never got the chance to go to a beach. Even... like this, with these circumstances.... to experience it... is nice.
[ It could be worse. ]
