The Story Continues... CHAPTER 7 - WEEK 711 Narrators Remain ; Wakey wakey, naughty murder children. It's a lovely Saturday, after all. Breakfast is served piping hot at its usual time and all of the evidence has been removed from the scenes of yesterday. No matter how you choose to spent your morning though, the clock will begin to chime the moment both hands reach the large, ornate twelve. Before your eyes materializes a door...but not just any door. Unlike the door leading to the festival, this door sits primly and properly right in front of the foyer. Whether you exit the castle on your own or you feel a friendly, invisible push, you begin to walk under an arc of wisterias. Behind you, the clock continues to chime with every step you take. By the time the time the clock strikes twelve, you've entered a beautiful garden. In front of you is a long table, 19 seats on each side. Around the garden are several glass cases containing evidence collected yesterday. As noon intensifies on the sun-shaped clock, you'll find Dragon at the head of the table, a glass-covered rose near her right hand. Tick tock, Narrators. You have nine hours to deliberate. The garden is strangely silent and there are no snacks today...it seems as though you'll be left to your own devices. Welcome to your trial post! [So, this might ordinarily be nice, given the beach and fun treasure map... Until he immediately understands what exactly they're supposed to do and makes a face.]

Yeah, we'll... deal with the pirate thing later...

Do you have anything to even cut with?

[ she doesn't. also they are walking now. ]

[selfinserting]

...No, I don’t. But we’ll, we’ll get there too.

[He looks at the map, frowning.]

Looks like we need to go left first, so...

[Off he goes!]

[vigilantics]

How are we supposed to know if something's been tampered with or not...? Will it be obvious?

[ it better fucking be obvious. ]

[selfinserting]

I guess we’ll, um, have to wait and see...

[They’re probably not doomed.]

[vigilantics]

[ WELL OKAY. GUESS THEY WILL JUST

fucking look for whatever these items are ]

[Walking down the beach, and just keeping an eye out for anything that looks amiss, he sees some driftwood cut into smaller pieces.]

...Do you think that counts as tampering?

[vigilantics]

It goddamn counts now.

[ look. it was messed with in some capacity, it counts. ]

Okay. It looks like, um, like we have to leave the beach for now and head further into the island...?

[As true pirate stories go.]

[vigilantics]

[ and she's changing direction to there. ]

... maybe I can challenge the pirate to a peg leg contest?

[selfinserting]

...Please don’t do that. If he has a weapon or something, I can take it from him? And then we can... figure things out.

[He pauses, though, as they move into a more jungley area. There’s a tree nearby that has a few slash marks in it, like from a knife or sword.]

Do you see that?

[vigilantics]

[ she goes to look at it, frowning. ]

... let's say that counts too.

[ although it's concerning. ]

Where's next?

[selfinserting]

Looks like we’re going further in... It’s usually, um, towards the middle in most stories, right?

[vigilantics]

This is so cliche.

[ but towards the middle is good.

eventually, there will be what looks like a broken knife in the path. ]

Three!

[selfinserting]

[He bends down to look at it.]

...Too bad we probably can’t use this. But - this means he’s probably close, right?

[vigilantics]

... yeah. Luckily and unluckily.

[ she looks around. ]

Where to?

[selfinserting]

[He’s about to answer, when the sound of footsteps that aren’t their own start up nearby. Hm.]

...I’m gonna guess that way.

[vigilantics]

... stay behind me.

[ she's going to very slowly creep up towards it, using the like. trees and stuff as cover?? and sure enough, they can spot tim curry through the foliage. ]

[selfinserting]

[He’s absolutely obeying and staying behind her. As they see him, he whispers to her.]

What do we do?

[vigilantics]

Stay here for now. When I do the signal, come out.

[ and she then steps out of the trees towards the pirate, without telling evan what the signal is. ]

Sir! Help, I was just robbed!

[ tim curry immediately just. holds his sword out. ]

[selfinserting]

[He’s about to indicate that he doesn’t, in fact, know the signal, but then she’s gone. He trusts her, at least, so he’ll watch to see what she’s going to do rather than immediately follow her.]

[vigilantics]

Sir... please... I am feeling so faint...

[ she's pretending to have a case of the vapors? tim curry will lean towards her, like he's unsure whether to stab her or not. unfortunately, he gets too close, because steph is going to promptly fucking punch him in the face, making him drop the sword. ]

Evan!

[ apparently the signal was his name. ]

[selfinserting]

[Almost as soon as the sword hits the ground and she yells his name, the sword is flying away in a sudden gust of wind, right into his hand. As he runs towards the two of them—]

Hold his arm!

[time to ride this wave of adrenaline far enough to cut off his hand before he remotely thinks about what he’s doing!!]
