The Story Continues... CHAPTER 6 - WEEK 6??? Narrators Remain ; The clock begins to chime, and on the first note, curfew lifts. Your doors swing open, whether you are ready or not. Leaving your room is a blur. The person you fell asleep beside — are they still there? Have they vanished? Were they ever there at all? You can't seem to recall clearly. What you are most aware of is the pervading sense of wrongness in the air, and how you can't hear anything but the chime of the clock. Even the sounds of your own voice and your own footsteps do not reach your ears. By the time the time the clock strikes nine, you know one thing to be true: blood has been spilt. Search the castle carefully — you wouldn't want to miss a single important detail, would you...? Welcome to this week's investigation post! This time, the mods will be providing top-levels for you to search. Please note the Locations page for your reference. Evidence — or lack thereof — will be noted in these threads. We ask that group threads consist of no more than 1-2 characters. After the discovery of the body (or bodies) and any pertinent evidence, an IC announcement concluding the investigation will go up. is it... like a known leg, or... what do you even investigate with a leg. is it wearing pants. a pant? a single pant. ]

[It is indeed wearing pants! Black pants. One black pant? Whoever it belongs to was wearing pants when this leg separated from their body. There are some smudged, dusty markings on it.]

[wearys]

[ so it belongs to someone who... wears black pants. is there... pockets attached to the pant to check? are the markings anything but smudgey?

and. looking at the top of the. leggy. what does it look like separated it from it's owner and is magnus going to puke. ]

[There aren't any pockets to check - whoever took off this leg did it below the pockets. The marks look vaguely like hoofprints upon closer inspection.

...which would make sense, as when he checks the top of the leg, he'll see that underneath the fabric it looks pretty badly bruised and trampled up. As for the wound itself, it looks as though it was cut or ripped off. Violently.

[ there's a small herf sound. yikes, indeed.

okay, he's going to. keep walking the rest of the path in search of the rest of our trampled friend who's missing one leg. ]

[Down the path Magnus goes! ...there are some hoofprints on the path, too. But no sign of a body.

Oh, on his left is a little field where some pegasi are grazing, though! Maybe he should go play with them instead of searching for that leg's owner.]

[wearys]

[ tempting.

he will approach the pasture, but not get too close to the pegasi. ]

Any of you guys trample someone lately?

[ may as well ask? ]

[Three of the pegasi look at Magnus in unison.

Two of them flutter their wings.

One of them huffs and trots in his general direction. This one has hair and feathers the color of peanut butter, and it seems ... friendly?]

[wearys]

[ immediate instinct to call him peanut. ]

Uh, hey there. [ he'll hold out a hand for the pegasus to sniff? let him pet the wingy horsie ] I would have brought some treats if I'd known you guys were just out here, sorry.

[ he says even though maybe they trampled a guy? ]

[themodsgrimm]

[the pegasus sniffs at magnus's hand, and then deigns to just stand there expectantly.

pet him, human.]

[wearys]

[ pets him! pets his snout and reaches up to give an ear scritch. horses are like big dogs, right.

pegasi > swans, holy shit ]

You see anything suspicious, dude? Or uh, [ frowns. ] Dudette? Or whatever you prefer?

[ he doesn't want to... misgender the winged horse. because then, from the distance, alex fierro would appear and garrote him, probably. ]

[themodsgrimm]

[the pegasus makes a little nickering sound at "dude," but doesn't respond to "dudette". apparently he's a dude!

anyway, he doesn't seem to react in any other way.

did he see something? didn't he? magnus doesn't speak Horse, so he won't have any way to tell. too bad he doesn't have any living friends who are good with pegasi to translate for him, huh?]

[wearys]

[ wow thanks for that unnecessary reminder, mods.

with a pat to the pegasus' neck, ] Okay, dude, I got to go find the rest of a dead body. Maybe later I can come back with an apple for you?

[ does the left path continue past the field of wingy horsies ]

[the pegasus seems GREATLY pleased by the idea of an apple, and noses at magnus's cheek. it also might try to nibble at some of his hair.

the left path does indeed continue on past the pasture! though further up ahead, it seems to curve to the right.]

[wearys]

[ that's fair, he has straw hair.

then onwards and forwards, he guesses. searching for parts. ]

[the path is miraculously clear of parts!

as he gets to the part of the path that curves, he has two options: continue forward, or take a right, which seems to lead to .... the glass enclosure with the little tigers and dragons! congrats, he's made it to the side of the menagerie opposite the entrance.]

[wearys]

[ hm neat!

let's go to the glass enclosure next. visit the cute babies. see if they've eaten anyone. ]

[a tiny dragon and a tiny tiger make a beeline for him as soon as he enters the enclosure!

take me home, their eyes say. take me home i love you.]

[wearys]

[ ohhh

nooo

what is he going to do he knows he can't take both home, but wants. to. this is suffering.

for now he'll pick up the dragon to hold while he checks out the place. if the tiger wants it could probably latch onto his pants and ride around, as kittens do, honestly. ]

Hey there, little guys. You see anything suspicious?

[the dragon flicks its tongue out at him then curls up close in his arms. it seems like it's been lonely.

the tiger seems to have been, too, because it sure does latch onto his pants and not let go. it makes sad little mewling noises, even.]

[ has no one been playing with the baby animals, oh my god?

besides the cute babies, is there anything else in the enclosure. ]

[the enclosure is full of nothing but cute baby animals that want magnus to take them home!]

[wearys]

[ worse than a dead body. ]

Okay, one of you can come help me look for dead body parts. Then the other can come see the pegasi with me later, okay?

[ he's going to be visiting this damn place every day now to take them on "adventures" isn't he. this is what he has to do? he has no choice? ]

So who wants to go find a body jigsaw?
