CHAPTER 6 - WEEK 6??? Narrators Remain ;

The clock begins to chime, and on the first note, curfew lifts. Your doors swing open, whether you are ready or not.

Leaving your room is a blur. The person you fell asleep beside — are they still there? Have they vanished? Were they ever there at all? You can't seem to recall clearly. What you are most aware of is the pervading sense of wrongness in the air, and how you can't hear anything but the chime of the clock. Even the sounds of your own voice and your own footsteps do not reach your ears.

By the time the time the clock strikes nine, you know one thing to be true: blood has been spilt.

Search the castle carefully — you wouldn't want to miss a single important detail, would you...?

Welcome to this week's investigation post!

This time, the mods will be providing top-levels for you to search. Please note the Locations page for your reference. Evidence — or lack thereof — will be noted in these threads. We ask that group threads consist of no more than 1-2 characters.

After the discovery of the body (or bodies) and any pertinent evidence, an IC announcement concluding the investigation will go up. You are then free to make your own toplevels on this post for any threads you would like to have between the end of the investigation and the start of the trial.

let's go to the glass enclosure next. visit the cute babies. see if they've eaten anyone. ]

[a tiny dragon and a tiny tiger make a beeline for him as soon as he enters the enclosure!

take me home, their eyes say. take me home i love you.]

what is he going to do he knows he can't take both home, but wants. to. this is suffering.

for now he'll pick up the dragon to hold while he checks out the place. if the tiger wants it could probably latch onto his pants and ride around, as kittens do, honestly. ]

Hey there, little guys. You see anything suspicious?

[the dragon flicks its tongue out at him then curls up close in his arms. it seems like it's been lonely.

the tiger seems to have been, too, because it sure does latch onto his pants and not let go. it makes sad little mewling noises, even.]

[ has no one been playing with the baby animals, oh my god?

besides the cute babies, is there anything else in the enclosure. ]

[the enclosure is full of nothing but cute baby animals that want magnus to take them home!]

[ worse than a dead body. ]

Okay, one of you can come help me look for dead body parts. Then the other can come see the pegasi with me later, okay?

[ he's going to be visiting this damn place every day now to take them on "adventures" isn't he. this is what he has to do? he has no choice? ]

So who wants to go find a body jigsaw?

[the tiger and the dragon both look up at him with pleading eyes. they BOTH want to go find a body jigsaw!]

[ this is hell.

what if he tries to take both out anyway. ]

[magnus will find that while he has both with him, the enclosure doors will not open.

[ I can't believe magnus just. lives here now. he can't ever leave.

no, but he'll set down the dragon for now. ] I'll see you later, Sam. Go play with your buddies, okay?

[ the dragon's name is sam, because why not.

he'll take alex the tiger with him for now, to continue the investigation. he doesn't miss his friends from home, what are you talking about. ]

[hey megan: wtf im sad

anyway, sam the sad dragon gives him a betrayed look before sulking away to the other dragons, who swarm her and shoot accusatory glares in magnus's direction. you abandoned their buddy...

alex the tiger mewls happily on their adventure as they head outside! the pathway looks pretty clear as they walk along, though.]

[ yw ]

Hey, blame your mothers, or whatever they are.

[ it's not his fault!! :(

but okay, onwards. does the path keep being clear? if so, magnus will start going off-path he guesses. ]

[the path does indeed keep being clear! ...off-path is slightly more run-down. alex the tiger runs on ahead and pounces on something!

it's a mouse. a soon-to-be-dead mouse, if the way alex's mouth is opening wide and sharp teeth are flashing in the sunlight is any indication.]

[ typical. zoos are always underfunded.

alex no. alex why. magnus not even surprised, but yikes. ]

All right, come on killer, we've got to scour this place good. Don't want to miss any pieces of dead bodies right?

[ will the tiger's hunter instincts help find dead bodies. ]

[the tiger's ears perk up at that

and it takes off running, back toward the pasture with the pegasi]

Hey! Wait up!

[ he doesn't want alex the tiger to get hurt or something?? he's a cub he needs to be Protected and he knows some weird shit lives around here.

he briskly follows back to the pegasi pasture. he doesn't even have an apple for his pegasus buddy. ]

[alex the tiger zooms right on past the pegasi

picks up the leg from the path in its mouth

and then trots back to magnus with it before dropping it at his feet. look! a body part!! aren't you proud!!]

Oh my gods.

[ well. he did kind of want to have another look at it, anyway? ]

... Good job, Alex. [ pets the tiger.

what color blood does the leggy have, by the way. ]

[alex purrs and bumps his head into magnus's palm

the leggy has golden ink for blood]

[ so it is a part of the rest of the pieces that magnus doesn't yet know about.

is it a long leggy... how many baby tigers is it long. is it longer than magnus' leg. ]

[it's a couple of baby tigers long. definitely longer than magnus's leg! probably it belonged to someone taller than him.

unless there was someone with a short-ass torso and long legs.]

[ huh, who knows. ]

Hey, bud, are there any more of these things around here? [ gives alex the tiger ear scritchies.

he hopes no one expects him to carry the leg around, because he won't. ]
