The Story Continues... CHAPTER 5 - WEEK 5??? Narrators Remain ; The clock begins to chime, and on the first note, curfew lifts. Your doors swing open, whether you are ready or not. Leaving your room is a blur. The person you fell asleep beside — are they still there? Have they vanished? Were they ever there at all? You can't seem to recall clearly. What you are most aware of is the pervading sense of wrongness in the air, and how you can't hear anything but the chime of the clock. Even the sounds of your own voice and your own footsteps do not reach your ears. By the time the time the clock strikes nine, you know one thing to be true: blood has been spilt. Search the castle carefully — you wouldn't want to miss a single important detail, would you...? Welcome to this week's investigation post! This time, the mods will be providing top-levels for you to search. Please note the Locations page for your reference. Evidence — or lack thereof — will be noted in these threads. We ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters. After the discovery of the body (or bodies) and any pertinent evidence, an IC announcement concluding the investigation will go up. she's just staring at the cases that hold sousei and jae-ha, but she's here. ]

[ i mean he knew she was here but it's the principle of the thing. His stiff expression does loosen just slightly when he catches her looking at the cases as he approaches. ]

... Stephanie. Are you okay?

[ look, he's getting better at this. ]

[vigilantics]

I'm just tired.

[ everything about this is tiring. ]

[psychedelica]

[ That is fair. The only reason he isn't tired is because he's used to seeing this - even before he got here.

But she's not like him; she walks in the light. So he regards her quietly for a moment before reaching out to her and gently resting a hand on her shoulder. There's nothing he can do to make it okay. He's done telling lies to her, at least for the time being. All he can offer her is his support. ]

[vigilantics]

[ she looks down at his hand for a moment before shifting her gaze to his face. stephanie offers him a smile; it's small and it's gone after a few seconds, but it's something. ]

[psychedelica]

We're still here.

[ she hasn't died yet, against all odds; she can still do something if she wants to change this. He doesn't plan on dying, either, if only so that he doesn't drag her down with him in vain. ]

There's a way to end this. I'm sure.

[vigilantics]

... yeah.

[ she places a hand on top of hikage's. ]

We'll get everyone home.
