The Story Continues... CHAPTER 526 Narrators Remain ; Now, what are the odds that this week will be as quiet as the last one? … look, we have to at least humor the idea, don’t we? The rumbling that awakens Narrators on this lovely Monday morning is – larger. It’s louder, it’s more intense, and it lasts longer, like one final shove. Once it concludes, the castle is quiet, almost tired in its stillness. Should anyone wander into the dining hall this week, they will find that none of the tapestries burn up in true testament that no ink had been spilt and no Narrators have left us. Should you choose to explore the grounds and find the new additions to the castle – you’ll likely be surprised to say the very least. In the interest of recreation, the pumpkin patch has been opened – and you’re more than welcome to see if you fare better in a pumpkin carriage better than our Cinderella did. What’s the harm in giving it a try? Or if you’re more interested in paying your respects, the shrines of the Tiger and the Dragon are both open. Shall you see what happens if you try to leave an offering? You know what they say – nothing ventured, nothing gained. Or maybe you’ll find your friends. Your dearly departed, delightfully preserved friends in the morgue. Reunions always bring a tear to the eye, don’t they? As if the sky mourns with you, Narrators will find that on Tuesday afternoon, it will begin to rain. It pours and it pours and it pours… and it will show no sign of stopping until Friday evening. Plan accordingly. Stay dry. Finally, partners had best get comfortable with the idea of touching into the spirit of generosity. They'll feel compelled to be kind to their partner, including possibly making or giving them a present. Isn't that just the sweetest? We don't do that in America either. Dead bodies get cremated or buried.

I don't know, I feel like living in a murder castle for weeks together makes personal barriers fall.

... I guess. It's. It's... It's familiar because of-- because of my dad. [ he turns to look back at Rapunzel's glass case ] He was, he was encased by these, by these rocks, and. Well, it kind of looks like this. Except I can't just... open a case and have him fall out.

Your dad was in one of these glass cases before? [That sounds... awful...] Did you ever manage to get him out? Or is it... some kind of curse?

It's not a-- well, it's similar enough.

[ good enough. he shrugs, still looking everywhere but Rebecca ]

He's still... he's still like that. It's not a curse, exactly, but, but the, the thing that's got him encased is magic. It's... complicated.

[Is he staring at empty coffins? Varian, please.]

... I believe you. Magic sounds like it's way more complicated than I thought. Then again I never thought about it that much until I got here.

It can be. I'm, I'm guessing you don't have a lot of it where you come from?

No. Not at all. This is the first time I've ever had to deal with magic.

Oh. Wow. At all? Really? This is a pretty intense introduction to it.

The closest we've got is slight of hand. [She waves her hand around, trying to indicate the entire castle.] This? This is a huge jump.

Wow. A, a lot of this must be blowing your mind, then. Corona has magic, and this is still... a lot more than I'm used to.

I really wish it was in better circumstances. I'd really like to like magic. This is souring me.

[alchemenace]

I... am probably not the person to talk to if you want a change of mind on that.

[Her face shows confusion for a moment.]

Hold on, don't you make potions? Didn't you make a love potion?

[alchemenace]

Did Jae-ha tell everyone about that? [ but. ] But yeah, that. That was me. He asked? I modified my formula for a potion I'd made before, which was itself modified from one I'd found near my village, so I can't say it's my own design. [ at that point. it is a little bit. ] Honestly, potion-making is just chemistry that no one understands yet.

Hm? No, I guessed and you answered. I didn't think Jae-ha was good enough at chemistry or familiar enough with the ingredients to make anything on his own. You're the only person I can think of who's got any experience in that area.

[alchemenace]

[ it was a trap and he fell for it :( ]

Oh. Haha. Um. ... Technically I think Fane and Lord El-Melloi could too?

There's no way Lord El-Melloi would be willing to help with something like that. He'd call it a waste of time. Have you seen him? He's so grumpy.
