The Story Continues...
PROLOGUE - WEEK 037 Narrators Remain ;

Wakey wakey, naughty murder children. It's a lovely Saturday, after all. Breakfast is served piping hot at its usual time and all of the evidence has been removed from the scenes of yesterday. No matter how you choose to spent your morning though, the clock will begin to chime the moment both hands reach the large, ornate twelve.

Before your eyes materializes a door...but not just any door. Unlike the door leading to the festival, this door sits primly and properly right in front of the foyer. Whether you exit the castle on your own or you feel a friendly, invisible push, you begin to walk under an arc of wisterias. Behind you, the clock continues to chime with every step you take.

By the time the time the clock strikes twelve, you've entered a beautiful garden. In front of you is a long table, 19 seats on each side. Around the garden are several glass cases containing evidence collected yesterday. As noon intensifies on the sun-shaped clock, you'll find Dragon at the head of the table, a glass-covered rose near her right hand.

Tick tock, Narrators. You have nine hours to deliberate.

If she killed that old woman, she was asking for this. That's how the game works. This is the best result we could ask for.

The best result is that no one kills anyone, but.....

I just don't understand why she'd do this.

... People can be pushed to do terrible things with the right motivations. Whatever those two women offered her was something she wanted enough to kill for it.

[ hikage is a fairly jaded person, at this point. ]

Nothing is worth killing a kind woman like Gi-gan --- she didn't deserve that.

[Yasusada's mostly been listening for the latest part of this trial, but now he steps forward to rest a hand on her shoulder. It's not much reassurance, but it's all he's got right now.]

[Not that he's any better at words than he's ever been, but... at least death is something he understands.]

Yeah. After the trial.

[ gonna squeeze his hand!! ]

But... pink clothes with sparkles on them?

I mean.... they have all sorts of things at the Tailor....

[ she sounds a little like she's trying to convince herself. ]

...And the high heels, as puncture wounds. Gi-gan's refusal to attack women and children.

I.... There is a lot of evidence pointing to her, yeah.

[ she doesn't argue, she just looks sad. ]

But why would Sharpay do this?

That, I believe... only the person in question could ever answer.

If she'll even answer.

Why would they bother obscuring the glitter if it didn't point directly to them? They stepped into that ink on purpose.

To confuse the crime scene?

[ a beat. ]

But, all the evidence is pointing to her....

It doesn't, you're right. But it-- coupled with what we suspect is the murder weapon and Evans's generally sharp and calculating personality-- does not make the best of cases for her innocence.
