PROLOGUE : TRIAL

The Story Continues...
PROLOGUE - WEEK 0
37 Narrators Remain ;
Wakey wakey, naughty murder children. It's a lovely Saturday, after all. Breakfast is served piping hot at its usual time and all of the evidence has been removed from the scenes of yesterday. No matter how you choose to spent your morning though, the clock will begin to chime the moment both hands reach the large, ornate twelve.

Before your eyes materializes a door...but not just any door. Unlike the door leading to the festival, this door sits primly and properly right in front of the foyer. Whether you exit the castle on your own or you feel a friendly, invisible push, you begin to walk under an arc of wisterias. Behind you, the clock continues to chime with every step you take.

By the time the time the clock strikes twelve, you've entered a beautiful garden. In front of you is a long table, 19 seats on each side. Around the garden are several glass cases containing evidence collected yesterday. As noon intensifies on the sun-shaped clock, you'll find Dragon at the head of the table, a glass-covered rose near her right hand.

Tick tock, Narrators. You have nine hours to deliberate.

Letting them continue to stab new holes into my Captain goes against my sense of beauty.

[So.

Yes.]
disilluded: (Hit me once at least.)

You are upset. I understand. It is disrespectful.

But would she prefer her body to be preserved perfectly, or would she prefer to properly catch the murderer?

[Let's think about what mom would want here!!]
alttitude: (» i love desk)

[personal profile] alttitude 2018-06-09 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm still waiting for a difference between stabbing her and stabbing me.

[seriously he's alright with it if he's convinced that it'll move things forward

but waiting on being convinced]
disilluded: (Do you have a pocket ass?)

[personal profile] disilluded 2018-06-09 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
The difference is that it is not the same.

[Quite frankly!!]

Your wounds aside, they are attempting to replicate a crime scene, to understand completely who committed this crime. It must be as similar as possible to be certain that nothing is missed. The difference may be minute, but it is a difference nonetheless.

So that her murderer does not escape judgement for this crime.

[To be honest, he's not entirely convinced.

But he listens and will sigh.]

Really, I'll never understand anyone here.

[just stab him he'll get over it]

You're still alive. Stabbing you would be messier.

[you'll bleed everywhere, jae-ha]

We'd have to wait for the bleeding to stop before we could properly examine your wound. That might take time that we do not have.

[ . . . if it's a time-sensitive thing, he seems to abide by it. So there's a sigh and he relents.]

Fine.

[And wherever skeleton man has gone off to:]

I'll oversee your experiment.

Thank you.

[ He says to Reyna, then walks forward again with the knife. ]

I did not think this needed saying, but to be clear after this unnecessary distraction: I am being methodical, not bloodthirsty. I shall be quick, so, please, set her down, and I'll get back to my work.

[honestly jae-ha so very rarely holds things against people so:] Was that the long road to an apology?

I imagine it's a culture difference - but you ought to tell someone before you intend to disrespect the dead.

[do skeletons have the same rules???

but regardless, he'll move to set Gi-gan back down carefully.]

Hmph. Perhaps. I've never seen someone care about a co— [ Hey, look, he catches himself! ] ...A body so much. Not when there is a more important use for it.

[ But anyways! Back to mcstabbins—

Fane will stab Gi-Gan with the knife first and then the shoe, followed by the opposite. He uses enough force each time with the first stab to drive it roughly as deep as the original wounds to be sure that the comparison is as close as possible. ]

[personal profile] faceripper 2018-06-09 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Fane is definitely careful and methodical, examining each carefully, and when he draws back, his tone is somewhat pleased. ]

Why, they appear to be perfectly identical to me. At least from this, there's no way to tell which came first.

[ ...so it's only pleased because he got to confirm it. He's a scholar, so you have to be thorough with identifying your claims! ]

[personal profile] alttitude 2018-06-09 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[Idly, as he moves to retrieve Gi-gan's body again to return to the glass case.]

Congratulations.

[He's going to take back his mom now.]
