PROLOGUE - WEEK 037 Narrators Remain ;

Wakey wakey, naughty murder children. It's a lovely Saturday, after all. Breakfast is served piping hot at its usual time and all of the evidence has been removed from the scenes of yesterday. No matter how you choose to spent your morning though, the clock will begin to chime the moment both hands reach the large, ornate twelve.

Before your eyes materializes a door...but not just any door. Unlike the door leading to the festival, this door sits primly and properly right in front of the foyer. Whether you exit the castle on your own or you feel a friendly, invisible push, you begin to walk under an arc of wisterias. Behind you, the clock continues to chime with every step you take.

By the time the time the clock strikes twelve, you've entered a beautiful garden. In front of you is a long table, 19 seats on each side. Around the garden are several glass cases containing evidence collected yesterday. As noon intensifies on the sun-shaped clock, you'll find Dragon at the head of the table, a glass-covered rose near her right hand.

Tick tock, Narrators. You have nine hours to deliberate.

That's what I'm wondering too. There were a few of you, which suggests either more than one assailant or someone really wanted to cover their tracks.

Magnus and I found Reyna pretty close to our room, but we didn't hear a commotion or anything before. Not even from her dog.

We're assuming there's only one killer, aren't we? Maybe the person who [ugh] killed Gi-gan had an accomplice, and that's how they were able to cover so much ground.

We all have partners. We can't rely on our partners to be our alibis, because they could have been in on it too.

And they'd have really good reasons to go along with it, given what the rules say about partnerships.

I doubt anybody's got a death wish. Everybody has something to go back to at home.

[ People working in concert is even worse! Ann looks visibly troubled. She's dealt with assholes and criminals, yes, but murder is something else altogether. ]

Then we should probably consider who might be working together. We did all just meet, after all.

That's correct, on both accounts. I can't account for Takamaki's whereabouts, but I highly doubt she was involved in this, as well.

Were you both with your roommates, then?

I was with mine, yes. Tenshouin should be able to confirm same for me.

Her body's location might suggest more than one, as well. They went to some trouble with it.

They went through a lot of trouble. The hand of the armor Gi-Gan was kept in was posed to hold the sword very tightly. That had to be done on purpose.

Is posing the body that way possible while it's still limp?

If they can open a suit of armor, I think it's possible.

Or if the suit of armor was already like that, it'd still take strength to dismantle it and put it back together.

Getting the body inside the suit of armor wouldn't have been easy, in either case. They really put a lot of effort into, uh... presentation.

... When we found her, another suit of armor came to get int the way.

And it would have been harder to give someone a wound if they were wearing armor, particularly on the chest.

[so he's still leaning toward it being at least a post-injury thing.]

There were purple stains inside the armor, and the only other purple stains outside the armor were drops on the floor.
