The Story Continues... PROLOGUE - WEEK 037 Narrators Remain ; Wakey wakey, naughty murder children. It's a lovely Saturday, after all. Breakfast is served piping hot at its usual time and all of the evidence has been removed from the scenes of yesterday. No matter how you choose to spent your morning though, the clock will begin to chime the moment both hands reach the large, ornate twelve. Before your eyes materializes a door...but not just any door. Unlike the door leading to the festival, this door sits primly and properly right in front of the foyer. Whether you exit the castle on your own or you feel a friendly, invisible push, you begin to walk under an arc of wisterias. Behind you, the clock continues to chime with every step you take. By the time the time the clock strikes twelve, you've entered a beautiful garden. In front of you is a long table, 19 seats on each side. Around the garden are several glass cases containing evidence collected yesterday. As noon intensifies on the sun-shaped clock, you'll find Dragon at the head of the table, a glass-covered rose near her right hand. Tick tock, Narrators. You have nine hours to deliberate. That's still very useful. Could you tell us who might have been under 5'5"?

[ It does take him a second to list off everyone, since he has a memorization scheme that he has to methodically go through, but eventually, he does list everyone out: ]

You, obviously, Rebecca Bunch, Sharpay Evans, Natsuo, Kyouka Izumi, Cardia Beckford, Veronica Sawyer, Varian, Rapunzel, Ion-1 and Ion-2.

So a good amount of people to go through. It's a place to start if that's the theory we want to go with. Thanks.

If I may present an obvious place to start even within that, I would say those that were found unconscious are more of interest.

[Hm.] Which includes at least three of the people who were found around the castle. Do you really think they had something to do with this?

[faceripper]

I don't see why not. They would have a far easier time of it than anyone else.

[ He shrugs ]

That is not to say that I believe it impossible for someone else to have done it, mind you. Considering there was some kind of magic cast that put even I to sleep, any culprit could have had opportunity to return to their room before their roommate noticed anything amiss. However, a simple solution is more often closer to the truth. Mortals are rarely so complex.

So I've noticed. [He frowns a little.] So how do you narrow down who you want to start examining when there's a lot of factors like that involved?

[faceripper]

Ah... Well, I'm not really one to investigate murders, since it's not a problem that afflicted my people, for one, and even after awaking, investigating actual murders was incredibly straightforward.

[ No one cares that much to hide murders when you're all sinners tbh ]

But if I'm to treat it like my traditional research... Hm... The most obvious or interesting first, and then doors will be opened from there. Proverbially. It is all a matter of pulling at implications to find something less obvious to pursue.
