PROLOGUE : TRIAL

The Story Continues...
PROLOGUE - WEEK 0
37 Narrators Remain ;
Wakey wakey, naughty murder children. It's a lovely Saturday, after all. Breakfast is served piping hot at its usual time and all of the evidence has been removed from the scenes of yesterday. No matter how you choose to spent your morning though, the clock will begin to chime the moment both hands reach the large, ornate twelve.

Before your eyes materializes a door...but not just any door. Unlike the door leading to the festival, this door sits primly and properly right in front of the foyer. Whether you exit the castle on your own or you feel a friendly, invisible push, you begin to walk under an arc of wisterias. Behind you, the clock continues to chime with every step you take.

By the time the time the clock strikes twelve, you've entered a beautiful garden. In front of you is a long table, 19 seats on each side. Around the garden are several glass cases containing evidence collected yesterday. As noon intensifies on the sun-shaped clock, you'll find Dragon at the head of the table, a glass-covered rose near her right hand.

Tick tock, Narrators. You have nine hours to deliberate.

[What a question.

Jae-ha's had time to think on this though, and his answer is simple:]

Someone she would've been too kind to kill herself. My Captain possessed strength and smarts to take down bands of mercenaries - but her warm heart would have limited her.

[personal profile] randori 2018-06-09 04:17 pm (UTC)(link)
That's not helpful! That could be anybody! She wouldn't want to kill anybody here— nobody would!

[ He points to her body without looking at it- he's still refusing to look, so Jae-ha will have to do it ]

It doesn't look like she fought at all, right? If it's an attack, there should be bruises and cuts and stuff too!
alttitude: (» and the answer is yes)

[personal profile] alttitude 2018-06-09 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[Jae-ha manages a gently withering look at Natsuo - why are you yelling at him about his mom when you just said he knows her best - but seems to pick up on his reluctance to look at the body.]

The tailor's room was in disarray, if you remember. Do you think she would've just let herself be killed?

[He glances back to his Captain's form and sighs.]

There's only two wounds. One at the neck, one at the chest.

[personal profile] randori 2018-06-09 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't get to see the tailor's room. Just the room with the stairs where she was found— what do the wounds look like? Knife wound? A sword? Needle? I didn't want to look too close, and I've never gotten stabbed so I dunno anything about them either.
alttitude: (» i don't know)

[personal profile] alttitude 2018-06-09 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, so you came to someone with experience?

[ - it lacks the usual lightness of his tone, but at least he's getting closer to joking.]

It's too thin to be a knife or a sword wound. It isn't wide enough to be either.

[personal profile] randori 2018-06-09 04:38 pm (UTC)(link)
You look like someone with experience! [ So yes, that's exactly right.

But if not a knife or a sword, what else could it be? He's a little stumped for options, throwing glances at the cases of evidence like that'll help. ]

Something thin like that... she might not have died from that if she puts pressure on it. There's no other way she could have died?
alttitude: (» i love desk)

[personal profile] alttitude 2018-06-09 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
The place in her neck is on a major artery.

[card i know that you're the medical hero here but let me bullshit]

It's likely that she was stunned, then stabbed again.

I wouldn't rule out poison - but it would require acquiring poison in a place like this.

[personal profile] randori 2018-06-09 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
But there's no blood...

[ Stabbing a major artery would sent blood gushing out from the wound, spraying over everything, including the culprit. An absolutely terrible place to secretly stab somebody, although that's a fact that's beyond Natsuo's knowledge. ]

Poison's easy to get though, right? Like all that ink spilling from her tapestry— it's like someone made her drink all that ink and that's why she's bleeding it now.
alttitude: (» we're in okinawa right now)

[personal profile] alttitude 2018-06-09 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
It seems like the Captain has no blood left to bleed.

[Just ink! Anyway - ]

She would've noticed if someone tried to feed her ink.

[personal profile] randori 2018-06-09 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
If it's in a bowl of soup, I don't think I would have noticed if someone fed me ink.

[ But he's also dumb, so, moving on- ]

What about when she's asleep? Is she a heavy sleeper?
alttitude: (» bark twice if you're in milwaukee)

[personal profile] alttitude 2018-06-09 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Hardly, she wouldn't have survived that way.

[PIRATES]

[personal profile] randori 2018-06-09 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Then... a friend. Somebody she trusts and would let her guard down against.

[ But that's Jae-ha, right? He can't even look at him in the eyes as he lets the implication settle. ]
alttitude: (» i'm weeman and this is a big cone)

[personal profile] alttitude 2018-06-09 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[Jae-ha... laughs. He laughs at the notion.]

You didn't listen to a word I actually said, did you?

[personal profile] randori 2018-06-09 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
You said it's somebody she wouldn't want to kill, no matter what.

[ That's a friend. Whoever she's closest to. As warm as somebody is, it's only the closest people who would be protected like that, at the cost of one's own life. ]
alttitude: (» where'd you get the hand grenade?)

[personal profile] alttitude 2018-06-09 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
That's women and children.

[it's the same as jae-ha's code. gi-gan would never raise a hand against someone that she'd consider defenseless. anyone else is free game.]

She would stab me in an instant if I worked against her.
disilluded: (That was my flesh!)

[personal profile] disilluded 2018-06-09 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[A shrug from over here.]

Though I spent only a week with her as her partner, I believe I can corroborate this.

She was a woman who valued survival, and would not have hesitated to fight back against someone who was able to do so.

[He would've liked to see Jae-ha get stabbed by her tho--]

[personal profile] randori 2018-06-09 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
That's stupid! Dangerous! Women can kill too!
alttitude: (» by the beard of zeus!)

[personal profile] alttitude 2018-06-09 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Their circumstances are different most of the time.

[look buddy they come from old timey fantasy korea]
