The Story Continues... PROLOGUE - WEEK 0??? Narrators Remain ; The clock begins to chime, and on the first note, curfew lifts. Your doors swing open, whether you are ready or not. Leaving your room is a blur. The person you fell asleep beside — are they still there? Have they vanished? Were they ever there at all? You can't seem to recall clearly. What you are most aware of is the pervading sense of wrongness in the air, and how you can't hear anything but the chime of the clock. Even the sounds of your own voice and your own footsteps do not reach your ears. By the time the time the clock strikes nine, you know one thing to be true: blood has been spilt. Search the castle carefully — you wouldn't want to miss a single important detail, would you...? Welcome to your first investigation post! This time, as it is tutorial week, we will be posting toplevels for searchable locations; moving forward, you will post your own toplevels for locations you wish to searh. Evidence — or lack thereof — will be noted in these threads. We ask that group threads consist of no more than 3-4 characters. After the discovery of the body (or bodies) and any pertinent evidence, an IC announcement concluding the investigation will go up. You are then free to make your own toplevels on this post for any threads you would like to have between the end of the investigation and the start of the trial. [ yeah, she's just gonna assume if something feels wrong, it involves sharp objects. Though she'll dip a curtsy to Souji as she steps in. ]

He's spent enough time in the armory during arrival surely he might be able to notice anything obviously strange about the spears and lances? Since that's... sort of what he'd been looking for back then. He does smile and nod his head politely toward Souji as he heads through the door though! ]/small>

[ when 2b enters the armory, she doesn't stop to greet the others. instead, she immediately grabs a rusted sword off of a holder, in case a threat is in the room with them. ]

So this "game" is real.

[The game is indeed real, naughty murder children (and naughty murder adult).

Anyway, at first glance, the armory doesn't look too terribly disturbed. There are still weapons scattered around, though anyone who's spent any amount of time here may note that they seem to have been moved from their original locations.

Some of them, in fact, seem to be forming a pile in the corner.]

Anyway Souji will politely nod back to Cardia and Ion and once he's determined the entrance way is fine, IN HE GOES after 2b... Though apparently he's not grabbing a busted ass sword yet.

He will, though, approach the very suspicious pile of weapons??]

Mm? I don't remember that being here before.

[Is... is it just a pile. Is there blood?? He'll grab a nearby spear to see if poking it elicits any reactio..n.....]

Things have been shifted around, I think. This pile wasn't here before, either.

[ she's not going to touch anything, but she will also move closer to examine that pile. ]

This place was in some amount of disrepair, but it wasn't so poorly organized, no...

[ Are the weapons forming a pile the useless rusted ones, or are they some of the few in better condition?

Either way Ion has a staff and he's not afraid to use it to. Also help push those a little, unless they seem particularly precarious... ]

[ 2b follows the rest of the group's lead, directing her ever-present pod to the pile that's caught everyone's eye. ]

Pod, scan the area.

[ can it detect anything, or will they need to take a closer look themselves? ]

[There isn't any blood, and the pod's scanning doesn't seem to reveal anything.

However, Souji's and Ion's prodding of the weaponry causes some of the sword pile to shift! It, uh, looks like there's something under there. A foot, attached to a leg wearing black pants.

The leg is probably attached to the rest of the body, but with the swords covering it, it's hard to tell.]

[How is there a body in here with no blood honestly, that's what his first thought is??

BUT FINE. Souji's not about to let Ion or Cardia deal with body-handling, so he'll work (with the spear not his bare hands because he's not a fool) to start uncovering the rest of the presumed body. Or bear. Whichever!!]

Could they still be alive?

[ because yeah, there's no blood?? But Cardia will at least try to be helpful now that she knows there's someone under there and move some of the uppermost swords off of the pile.

Hey, she has gloves on, it's fine. ]

It may be that they have been moved, even if...

[ ...'there's no blood.' Still, that's a good question? Are they breathing? Unconscious? Ion doesn't have very high expectations, given where they are, but.

He does move out of the way to let Souji do most of the heavy lifting, clutching his staff a little more closely to him as he backs off. ]

Or perhaps it might not have been a weapon that did it.

[ poison?? really bad cooking??? drinking too much alchohol at the party???? ]

[ 2b doesn't care, she's digging right into the sword pile, approximately where a face would be...? ]

[Teamwork makes the dream work. With enough swords moved out of the way, the identity of the person under the swords becomes clear.

It's Nico di Angelo.

He looks almost peaceful.]

[Souji won't touch rusty swords but apparently he's Fine with touching a body. THIS IS SOME MEDICAL KNOWLEDGE HE KNOWS!! How to hold a person's wrist to check for their pulse!! So that's what he's gonna do, good luck Nico may you be as lucky as Sharpay.]

[ She's really only talked to Nico once, but this is still kind of troubling?? Very troubling??

She'll just take a step back, biting her lip.

[ Ion hasn't talked to Nico at all! Still, he'd rather not have confirmation that someone among them apparently wants to shank people??? :/

Ion sort of just sags a little while looking very solemn, letting his staff carry more of his weight. ]

[Well. It's a good thing Souji checked!

Nico has a pulse. He can go to college. In New Rome, maybe! I hear they have great programs there!]

[THANK FUCK. Souji looks relieved and immediately starts... moving swords away so he can try to get Nico out of this stabby weapons pile.]

His heart is still beating.

[ is this what whiplash feels like? maybe it's what whiplash feels like. whew, not a dead body. ]

I don't think that will be necessary. Surely there are better ways to wake someone unconscious up?

[Don't slap him wtf Cardia. But yes hello, Nico is very much dead asleep. Haha, I think I'm funny. Anyway he's pretty much passed out under his sword-nest, unaware of what's going on around him. He doesn't appear to be injured sans maybe getting poked by those swords if Souji's not careful.

What will you do?]

[Souji will be very careful! No one's getting tetanus on his watch, probably, even if they might get tuberculosis.]

A glass of water to the face usually does the trick, I think...? Or making loud noises.

[There are plenty of shields and weapons here to do that with, at least. Souji would go get one but he's busy making sure Nico doesn't die in his swordnest.]

Ah-- just a moment!

[ well, it's no slap, but she'll find a way to make this work. Which means she's grabbing a shield and bringing it over, hauling up one of the rusty swords they've liberated Nico from-- and smacking the flat of the blade unceremoniously against the shield.

also from the noise because Souji and Cardia's comments both should have been warning enough, and yet he still. jumps. a little, going rigid.

his tuning fork also helps out in adding to the noise apparently, with a soft and low hum because that's what tuning forks do when loud sounds happen near them, they start resonating and shit. :/
