The Story Continues... PROLOGUE - WEEK 0??? Narrators Remain ; The clock begins to chime, and on the first note, curfew lifts. Your doors swing open, whether you are ready or not. Leaving your room is a blur. The person you fell asleep beside — are they still there? Have they vanished? Were they ever there at all? You can't seem to recall clearly. What you are most aware of is the pervading sense of wrongness in the air, and how you can't hear anything but the chime of the clock. Even the sounds of your own voice and your own footsteps do not reach your ears. By the time the time the clock strikes nine, you know one thing to be true: blood has been spilt. Search the castle carefully — you wouldn't want to miss a single important detail, would you...? Welcome to your first investigation post! This time, as it is tutorial week, we will be posting toplevels for searchable locations; moving forward, you will post your own toplevels for locations you wish to searh. Evidence — or lack thereof — will be noted in these threads. We ask that group threads consist of no more than 3-4 characters. After the discovery of the body (or bodies) and any pertinent evidence, an IC announcement concluding the investigation will go up. You are then free to make your own toplevels on this post for any threads you would like to have between the end of the investigation and the start of the trial. BUT FINE. Souji's not about to let Ion or Cardia deal with body-handling, so he'll work (with the spear not his bare hands because he's not a fool) to start uncovering the rest of the presumed body. Or bear. Whichever!!]

[First of all, Sanji, someone has definitely been touching all your shit. All of the knives appear to have been stolen. Well, okay, all of the sharp knives appear to have been stolen. There are still plenty of butter knives.

Oh, and there's a body in the back of the kitchen, resting against the bottom cupboards.]

He and Waver will notice something as they examine the bodies in more detail: they don't seem to have heads. That's, uh, concerning. Maybe.

[ That's a disappointed "hmm." She wanted to see if she could take the sword if there wasn't any blood on it.

But that visor isn't suspicious at all.

It's a good thing she was trained to be an assassin, so she has the agility to jump up and try to knock the visor open. ]

[ he shrugs and removes the fabric. he's had to handle his own corpse often enough that the possibility of a dead body is simply unpleasant rather than debilitating. ]

If you consider the possibility of non-scientific methods, we could be under some sort of illusion or spell. If you feel you cannot handle this, Lady, then I also believe you should look away.

[Yeah he notices the knives but the body is more worrisome. He'll let Sanji make that beeline, stepping after him a bit less directly to try to keep an eye on the kitchen around the body.

It's cast in shadow thanks to the rest of the helmet, so Kyouka might want to try and get the suit of armor completely open if she wants to be able to tell who it is.]

He does move out of the way to let Souji do most of the heavy lifting, clutching his staff a little more closely to him as he backs off. ]

[Aside from the missing knives and the body, it looks like the kitchen's been completely untouched. Nothing else is amiss.

But, as for the body, they'll notice it right away as ya green dragon boi, Jae-Ha.]

[As Magnus and Ann head down the stairs, they will likely notice the glitter, sequins, and confetti at their feet. Maybe someone was just throwing a party?

They'll also see some motion from under the purple fabric by the body. A moment later, there's a glint of gold as what looks like a solid gold greyhound nudges the body as if to try and make it respond.

It doesn't, and when Magnus and Ann get too close, the dog turns toward them and growls lowly.]

[Grimacing. She takes a deep breath, shaking her head and stepping further into the room just to see if there's anything else that's off. Besides the obvious corpses, that is.]

No, no. I'm sorry. I'm fine. It's just. [God.] There's so many. They can't all be real, can they?
