CHAPTER SEVEN ; TRIAL
CHAPTER 7 - WEEK 7 Wakey wakey, naughty murder children. It's a lovely Saturday, after all. Breakfast is served piping hot at its usual time and all of the evidence has been removed from the scenes of yesterday. No matter how you choose to spent your morning though, the clock will begin to chime the moment both hands reach the large, ornate twelve. Before your eyes materializes a door...but not just any door. Unlike the door leading to the festival, this door sits primly and properly right in front of the foyer. Whether you exit the castle on your own or you feel a friendly, invisible push, you begin to walk under an arc of wisterias. Behind you, the clock continues to chime with every step you take. By the time the time the clock strikes twelve, you've entered a beautiful garden. In front of you is a long table, 19 seats on each side. Around the garden are several glass cases containing evidence collected yesterday. As noon intensifies on the sun-shaped clock, you'll find Dragon at the head of the table, a glass-covered rose near her right hand. Tick tock, Narrators. You have nine hours to deliberate. The garden is strangely silent and there are no snacks today...it seems as though you'll be left to your own devices. ![]() Welcome to your trial post! but ion does draw a little closer in, staff at the ready as well in case necromancy happens or something. and he knew about the shoes, he just wasn't going to mention them since they seemed self-explanatory. :/ ]
You two can take care of that, I suppose. I'll look through the cases?
[ how hard can it be to find uno pair of red shoes that. fits them. ]
no subject
In any case, Sandalphon rapidly realizes that he isn't in the best mental state for this undertaking. Nonetheless, he squares his shoulders and moves to inspect a row of coffins, rapping them with his knuckles in case the still-living person is asleep while he keeps his ears peeled for hints of danger. So far, nothing.]
no subject
[ also, rapunzel heads to another row, copying sandalphon and looking up every few seconds or so to make sure the two of them are alright. nothing yet. ]
Be careful! I'm right here if you need me.
[ said the shortest of these shorties. ]
no subject
you know how you're supposed to break glass in case of an emergency? yeah that's that he's doing with a hard swing. don't worry, he's standing away and to the side so he doesn't have to be hit by too much shattering glass or anything.
he'll also fish out the shoes with his staff and like. between the three of them it has to fit at least one of them, right? because he's going to attempt to size them up and. hm.
too big for him. sandy, you're up! ]
no subject
A cursory glance is enough to show him that they might fit. He takes one of his own shoes off to experiment—and, indeed, the red shoe slips on with ease. Back on his heel goes.]
It fits. [He looks over his shoulder.] Have you found them, Rapunzel?
[He means the person.]
no subject
Nothing ye-- Oh!
[ there's a vague moan from one of them. rapunzel shrieks and nearly jumps, but get her hand on the lid to start to pry it open. ]
no subject
Ion, at least, manages to rush over to help Rapunzel in prying the lid open without cutting himself on any glass on the floor or anything. ]
Are they-- [ well, not all right, but- ] cognizant? Aware we're here?
[ they better be, they need to get a last request out of this person after all! ]
no subject
Should they still require assistance by the time Sandalphon makes it over, he'll provide the strength to lay the lid down on the ground gently. Diplomacy and conversing seem to be more Ion and Rapunzel's specialties, respectively, so he'll let them handle the actual person inside the coffin.]
no subject
[ inside the coffin is a woman, groaning weakly and reaching out for them. rapunzel lets her take her hand. ]
[ Please... I just want a kiss from a young man... Even on the cheek will do. ]
[ i'm giving the people what they want. ]
no subject
does a forehead kiss count, ugh fine we're being european. ion is still for a somewhat long moment after he hears that request, but given what they're trying to do here, he relents and leans in, gently kissing the woman first on one cheek, then another with the softest of expressions. ]
... I'm sorry we can't do more for you. But please, go in peace, and know that you were loved.
[ by someone, somewhere, at some point, probably, look he did the thing can he lean back now can they yeet this coffin to the wild outdoors ]
no subject
The lid goes back as soon as Ion finishes speaking and the woman lies down to rest. Sandalphon will shoulder the brunt of the weight when they work together to lift the coffin and the forest comes into view. Rapunzel can handle the animals.]
no subject
Okay, be careful you two -- these animals can be dangerous.
[ she knows, her disneying didn't work on them before. :( ]
no subject
so ion can... try to shepherd the animals just a little, keep them out from underfoot, as they leg it to the cottage- if only because he still has the longer implement between the two of him and rapunzel. and has his hands free, that's an important part. ]
We still have to help guide them to our destination, do we not?
no subject
[It's not a question of whether Ion is capable or not. He's asking if Ion will take up that task, since he and Rapunzel are busy with the coffin.]
The cottage isn't far off. We should be reaching it soon.
no subject
Just don't let them hurt you --- they can be a little, um, aggressive. Pascal, help him out, okay?
[ pascal's going to travel over to ion to play as bodyguard while the badasses heft the coffin!! ]
no subject
My valiant defender, Sir Pascal. I think we'll do fine, won't we?
[ so yeah he can probably handle the animals, he'll keep them out from being. afoot!
look over there, a cottage, in the distance...! ]
