The Story Continues... CHAPTER 7 - WEEK 711 Narrators Remain ; Wakey wakey, naughty murder children. It's a lovely Saturday, after all. Breakfast is served piping hot at its usual time and all of the evidence has been removed from the scenes of yesterday. No matter how you choose to spent your morning though, the clock will begin to chime the moment both hands reach the large, ornate twelve. Before your eyes materializes a door...but not just any door. Unlike the door leading to the festival, this door sits primly and properly right in front of the foyer. Whether you exit the castle on your own or you feel a friendly, invisible push, you begin to walk under an arc of wisterias. Behind you, the clock continues to chime with every step you take. By the time the time the clock strikes twelve, you've entered a beautiful garden. In front of you is a long table, 19 seats on each side. Around the garden are several glass cases containing evidence collected yesterday. As noon intensifies on the sun-shaped clock, you'll find Dragon at the head of the table, a glass-covered rose near her right hand. Tick tock, Narrators. You have nine hours to deliberate. The garden is strangely silent and there are no snacks today...it seems as though you'll be left to your own devices. Welcome to your trial post! Only last night. [So he wasn't like sitting on a sleeper deathwish, at least. IT'S FINE.] And because it seemed to me like the best option.

That's one reason, yes. [Well he ain't gonna lie especially since like half the remaining people know what kind of person he is by now.]

I never thought it was, Souji. I know better than that. And all of us have decisions to make so...it only makes sense.

[sanguinairy]

[The smile he gives Nico is a serene one, soft and careful.]

I know. [He just needed to say it, for whatever Souji reasons he has.] ...This is just the decision I've made, in the end. That's all.

[He can't help but ask the same question he'd asked Sanji though.] You've definitely made peace with the decision?

[sanguinairy]

[He dips his head a little, and then nods.]

I have, yes.

[Honestly he was going to yeet himself even if Sanji hadn't approached him, so he's at least glad his yeeting can serve a purpose.]

I'm glad I'm not the only one who wondered that.

[resumed]

Typical right? It's not like we're ever the first ones to know things even back home either.

[wearys]

At this point, it must be a law of the universe.

[resumed]

At least the law of our universe. I was hoping to catch a break here.

[concasse]

Blame me instead of Souji. I was the one who came to him with the idea last night.

[Folding his arms]

I'm the Editor, like he said. And the idea of surviving this shit after all the people I killed doesn't sit well with me.

It's a selfish request, but I'd rather the one who ends up dead compared to Ion, Magnus, and Stephanie-chan.

[resumed]

[He considers that for a few moments.]

...I don't think it's too terribly selfish that way, actually. It's kind of a balance in and of itself. Atonement or retribution or something like that. [He doesn't seem too mad or surprised that Sanji was an Editor though.] You've made peace with the decision?

[concasse]

[Honestly Sanji lowkey suspects most people knew at this point and just didn't... say... anything... he's still trying to wrap his mind around that one.]

I promised a couple of people I'd wait until we got all our shit in order, and then after that, I'll leave the rest in everyone else's hands.

Then I can respect that, sir. [Sometimes you gotta do whacha gotta do.] As I understand, the Editors didn't really have a choice in what was done, so...I think people are more willing to accept it has to be this way. So...thank you for being honest.
