CHAPTER SEVEN ; TRIAL
CHAPTER 7 - WEEK 7 Wakey wakey, naughty murder children. It's a lovely Saturday, after all. Breakfast is served piping hot at its usual time and all of the evidence has been removed from the scenes of yesterday. No matter how you choose to spent your morning though, the clock will begin to chime the moment both hands reach the large, ornate twelve. Before your eyes materializes a door...but not just any door. Unlike the door leading to the festival, this door sits primly and properly right in front of the foyer. Whether you exit the castle on your own or you feel a friendly, invisible push, you begin to walk under an arc of wisterias. Behind you, the clock continues to chime with every step you take. By the time the time the clock strikes twelve, you've entered a beautiful garden. In front of you is a long table, 19 seats on each side. Around the garden are several glass cases containing evidence collected yesterday. As noon intensifies on the sun-shaped clock, you'll find Dragon at the head of the table, a glass-covered rose near her right hand. Tick tock, Narrators. You have nine hours to deliberate. The garden is strangely silent and there are no snacks today...it seems as though you'll be left to your own devices. ![]() Welcome to your trial post! FINALE ;
It lifts from its holding place, floating instead down in front of Dragon – a long, white quill descending next to it. She takes it between her fingers, and dips the tip of it in the ink.
In the air in front of the Narrators – she writes. ]
And the fallen Narrators were restored again – happy, healthy, and well.
[ In that moment, the dead will find their ghostly forms regain their lively color, their heartbeats restored, and their feet settled neatly on the ground beneath them. Deceased Narrators have been revived.
A fair amount disappears from the ink pot as the magic takes root – but there appears to be plenty leftover.
Dragon looks so happy that she could cry, holding the quill carefully in nearly trembling hands. She smiles. ]
…. thank you, everyone. Thank you so much.
[ She glances to the clock face, then to the ink pot in front of her, before letting her gaze fall upon the crowd again. ]
This ink is yours… but I must secure a way for each of you to share it. It is late… so I hope that you will be able to enjoy one more night in the castle, with each other.
Tomorrow you will embark on your journeys home… or wherever it is that you wish to go. You have my word.
[ She pulls her skirts to curtsy in front of the Narrators, bowing her head as she does. ]
You have done well… I hope you will put thought and care into how you will continue the rest of your stories – and chase your Happily Ever Afters.
[ Narrators will find the bedrooms of the castle restored to their original number – and everything revitalized into a glistening, clean state. It appears as though the castle is making one last push in order to accommodate its guests and care for them.
For the time being – Dragon will remain for questioning. ]

So... you and Tiger?

... our fates will be in your hands.
If you would like to spare ink for us... I will not be opposed.

There was another thing I wanted to ask. Would it... be possible to send a letter to someone back home?

... well, she offers him a smile, her brow furrowed as she looks him over.]
... you weren't kindly received in the Other Side? That's too bad...

SPECIFICALLY FOR DRAGON NOW,
Our wishes. They'll still be fulfilled, right?
no subject
Anything that was granted by the Wishing Well prior to today... They will not be changed.
Your wishes for your friends will come to pass.

[ yes, she is alive again, and she's happy about it, but this is a Concern. ]
no subject
Not if you don't want it to.... With the ink you have the power to write whatever future you wish.
no subject
[ waver is smiling for once in his fucking life. that's how damn happy he is. ]
However, there's always the chance of this happening again, yes?

Thank you very much, Dragon-chan.

Dragon looks surprised for a moment, stiffening -
Before she seems to realize that he doesn't mean to squeeze her to death, so she relaxes into a laugh and wraps her arms around him too.]
... it is the least I can do, Eichi.

This can't be happening; everything he's ever known and learned in his life tells him it can't be. But it is. He feels happy. He feels... alive. It's almost frightening. ]
... Thank you.

... may I take your hand, Hikage?

And --- what about those who were.... already dead before coming here?

With the ink... you will have more control over your wishes than a token. I recommend waiting, rather than trusting that fickle well.
For those who departed before being here... they can write a new life all their own, if they wish.

Neh, Dragon-sama.
The last time I went through those doors on Wednesday, me and a couple of others landed in a carnival.
[...]
We brought back three kids with us, but they turned into ink. Is there any way they can be brought back or reincarnated?
no subject
I don't see why there wouldn't be... if you care to write them back into existence.

But she walks up to Dragon and pulls her into a hug.]
Thank you for everything. I... I meant what I said. I'll miss you.

And I, you.
But you have so much ahead of you - and I can't wait for everything your future holds.
