The Story Continues... CHAPTER 7 - WEEK 7??? Narrators Remain ; The clock begins to chime, and on the first note, curfew lifts. Your doors swing open, whether you are ready or not. Leaving your room is a blur. The person you fell asleep beside — are they still there? Have they vanished? Were they ever there at all? You can't seem to recall clearly. What you are most aware of is the pervading sense of wrongness in the air, and how you can't hear anything but the chime of the clock. Even the sounds of your own voice and your own footsteps do not reach your ears. By the time the time the clock strikes nine, you know one thing to be true: blood has been spilt. Search the castle carefully — you wouldn't want to miss a single important detail, would you...? Welcome to this week's investigation post! [There is, actually. There's a cut on one of her cheeks, a deep wound in her shoulder, and an even more pressing wound in the space over the chest where the heart would be.

...but, what he'll notice very quickly: none of it is ink. Each wound is bloody.]

[concasse]

[Hmmmm Sanji sure is smelling that corpse-y blood smell early in the morning]

... Cardia-chan?

[He assumed if you bled, you are alive, so of course he gets hopeful and presses his fingers to her neck, looking for a pulse ... yes I know I was told she was dead but SANJI REFUSES TO BELIEVE.

But he's also going to sweep his gaze around. Is there anything on the floor nearby her?]

[He won't find a pulse. Unfortunately, despite the lack of ink...Cardia Beckford is absolutely, totally, completely dead, like for real. Blood is pooled underneath her cold corpse.

Ah, but there it is. His beloved kitchen knife!]

[concasse]

[:c There it is...

He won't pick it up for the sake of keeping evidence untainted (because SOMEONE KILLED CARDIA and they're going to die), but is the knife bloody seeing as... y'know. Poor Cardia looks jacked up.]

[Yeah...the knife is covered in blood. How closely is he inspecting it? How deep in detective work is this Sad Lone Chef going?]

[HE IS NO LONGER THE LONE CHEF (but he's definitely still sad) because belph walks in!

...

he actually does not look surprised at all to see his former partner dead, though his features twist in grief for a moment. seeing cardia doesn't help either, and he's silent for a while, before he sighs.]

... Ah. She was a Blotter, then?

[also why the hell is she bloody, wasn't akechi enough weirdness??]

[concasse]

[Honestly Sanji is glad to have a second ACTUALLY ALIVE BODY in this kitchen of corpses. His place of work, defiled.]

I have no shitty clue.

[Glancing back at Shirasu] If she was, never would've expected her to go after Shirasu.

[And Sanji is leaning his face close to the knife because... because-- actually he can just grab a towel and bring the knife up to his face, smh, stop making this weird, Sanji.

Does anything stand out? He's also giving the knife a light sniff to make sure it's blood and not ink, he doesn't trust this castle. While he talks:]

... I can look over Shirasu's body if you want me to, and you take Cardia-chan?

[He's trying to be sympathetic]

[I can't believe Sanji's smelling the knife.

His delicate chef's nose will be able to tell that the blood absolutely smells like blood.

...and yet, somehow, he can smell ink on the blade, as well.]

[axilium]

... Sure.

[anyway, since belph isn't a sniffer unlike someone, he's not sure what to do.

so, uh. does her heart wound look like a stab wound, or what?]

[concasse]

... The hell?

[walking over to Shirasu's body, calling out:]

There's the smell of blood and ink on this knife.

[So did it stabbity someone without killing them, and then... stabbity again? Sanji is wondering if someone is running around with knife wounds or some shit.

But let's finally take a look at Shirasu (SORRY MAN). Sanji will look at the face, the neck, and the chest areas first, moving clothing aside as he goes, on the search for the killing blow. Did he get stabbed, too?]

[Cardia's wounds definitely appear to be stab wounds, yes. As far as Shirasu goes, he'll notice that he's not wearing his headband, for one thing. But as far as wounds go, when he's searching from head to chest, he'll find the killing blow before too long: a stab wound underneath the ribcage.]

[i wonder where shirasu's headband is hmm

in any case, belph still doesn't know what to do about cardia, so he'll just be opening the drawers and cabinets.]

Don't suppose you can somehow get the ink colour?

[concasse]

I'm guessing red, but...

[that's only a guess. Sanji sighs upon finding the stab wound.]

I can try and wipe off part of the blood and see if there's any underneath.

[Though before that, Sanji will check the rest of Shirasu. Are there any pockets to look through like a goddamn thief?]

[Nothing appears to be missing from the drawers or cabinets, but there's something hanging out by the sink if Belph wants to take a closer look.

Shirasu has a lot of hidey holes, but it doesn't look like he's currently carying anything. When he goes to search his sleeves, however, he'll notice new bandages wrapped around his right arm, from the upper arm down to the wrist. Red spots are still visible through the wrist bandages...he must have covered something up recently.]

Might as well try.

[fine, what's at the sink!!]

[concasse]

[... Yeah Sanji just uses his own clean kitchen knife to casually cut open the bandages, he wants to see what is hiding underneath!

SHIRASU, WHAT DID. YOU DO]

[It's a dishrag! Not super abnormal, but you never know. Take a closer look?

The bandages on Shirasu's wrist have been revealed to have been covering scratches. The other bandages are covering burns. All of these wounds appear clean and tended to.]

[axilium]

[belph doesn't want to be here right now but okay, he'll take a closer look.]

[concasse]

[Sanji takes note of both with a neutral expression, though afterward he'll fold Shirasu's arm over himself, and rearrange the body so it's at least... looking peaceful.

R.I.P. Knife Stealer.

But now he will go and fetch that towel he used before. He wants to wipe up a small portion of blood from the knife, to see if he can get to the ink color below! ... Assuming there is an ink stain below the blood.]

[Is there? Hm...doesn't look like he finds anything when he tries.

But Belph's dishrag does have a stain on it that looks a lot like golden ink.]

... Hey, Sanji. Found golden ink.

[anything else around the area, modly text?]

[concasse]

... We lost a Hero, huh?

[not a surprise. They're the faction with the most people left. Seas, he hopes Rebecca is alright.]

And I don't see any gold or purple ink hiding under the knife, so...

[ He might notice...the sink looking a little wet. ★~(◠‿◕✿) ]

Hmm.

... Can you try sniffing the drain?

... Sure.

[Maybe there will be a smelling poison and another Hero will get to die.

So yeah Sanji is gonna go SNIFF THE FUCKIN DRAIN.

What does his elf nose smell?]
