The Story Continues... CHAPTER 7 - WEEK 715 Narrators Remain ; Just before Narrators awake, those who are still attached to partners will dream of the two of them together – and then the sudden snap of a red string that connects the two of them. Once they awake, they’ll find the entire section of the rulebook pertaining to Partners has disappeared entirely. Apparently the time for partnerships is over. In addition, the castle has begun to empty out. Perhaps Narrators will notice it now especially on this morning, as their footsteps echo and the halls lack the familiar faces they’ve come to know. Upon entering the dining hall, the tapestries of Evan Hansen, Lord El-Melloi II, Natsuo, Fon Master Ion, Fane, Varian, and Zelos Wilder will all catch flame and disappear as the fire engulfs them entirely, leaving nothing behind. Yet one oddity seems to have enchanted the castle this week – there are the sounds of running footsteps and the familiar laughter of those who have departed. Should you choose to follow this noise, you’ll be led to the Puppet Room. The door will shut behind you – you’ll catch be movement out of the corner of your eye. Yet instead of a puppet entering the stage and re-enacting a dramatic scene, it will just suddenly appear… closer to you. It lingers there, and makes no other move. Welcome to Week 7, everyone! I never got anything back. Guess I didn't deserve them.

Surprise is clear, before she settles on a wry smile.]

You know, for almost thirty years I thought I was the one that didn't deserve his love. There was obviously something wrong with me.

[doublecrows]

[SHE STUMBLED UPON IT ON ACCIDENT!!]

There isn't. Some fathers simply aren't worth the dirt of the ground they walk upon. It sounds as though your father was that way.

[disclosures]

[There's a long pause.]

You're... wrong about me. There's definitely something wrong. I just... don't know what it is.

[doublecrows]

Isn't there something wrong with everyone?

[THAT'S. . . not the way to approach it]

Who cares? That doesn't make your scum of a father any more worth your time.

[yikes. he's speaking so forcefully because it's clear some of his own issues are leaking into this conversation]

You have worth to people who are far better than he.

[disclosures]

It would just be nice to know what it is.

[As bad as she is at noticing other people's feelings, the fact his feelings are driving this... is totally lost on her.

She does latch onto the last part.]

... You really think so?

I do.

I suppose the days where I say things I don't mean are past me, now.

[Maybe she'll reach that point on her own one day. But first she really needs to be more honest with herself... Truly terrifying.]

Then... Thanks for believing that.

[She looks off for a moment.]

When we get out of this, we really need to go to therapy. For real instead of canceling or leaving in the middle of sessions.

[doublecrows]

I don't know what a therapist can do for me.

[There's an involuntary laugh.]

Don't knock it until you've tried it. Of course... you actually have to listen to them so they can help.

. . . I feel as though a therapist would not even begin to understand the things I've gone through.

[like BEING AN ASSASSIN]

I don't know, they're usually pretty accepting and willing to help you through stuff.

If you sit through the session.

I mean you can totally leave stuff out. I did that too. Nobody's going to believe anything about murder castle, that's for sure.

They certainly won't believe anything about the "monster I can summon from my psyche," either.

[disclosures]

Do you think the monster you summon from your psyche was something that seriously impacted your mental health? I mean, I know it's from your psyche and all but...

[doublecrows]

Personas are reflections of our very soul. It's only natural they mirror the feelings we hold deep within our hearts.

At least talk about your feelings even if you can't talk about all the magical nonsense that's happened.

I hear it's therapeutic.
