CHAPTER 7 ; MINGLE
CHAPTER 7 - WEEK 7 Just before Narrators awake, those who are still attached to partners will dream of the two of them together – and then the sudden snap of a red string that connects the two of them. Once they awake, they’ll find the entire section of the rulebook pertaining to Partners has disappeared entirely. Apparently the time for partnerships is over. In addition, the castle has begun to empty out. Perhaps Narrators will notice it now especially on this morning, as their footsteps echo and the halls lack the familiar faces they’ve come to know. Upon entering the dining hall, the tapestries of Evan Hansen, Lord El-Melloi II, Natsuo, Fon Master Ion, Fane, Varian, and Zelos Wilder will all catch flame and disappear as the fire engulfs them entirely, leaving nothing behind. Yet one oddity seems to have enchanted the castle this week – there are the sounds of running footsteps and the familiar laughter of those who have departed. Should you choose to follow this noise, you’ll be led to the Puppet Room. The door will shut behind you – you’ll catch be movement out of the corner of your eye. Yet instead of a puppet entering the stage and re-enacting a dramatic scene, it will just suddenly appear… closer to you. It lingers there, and makes no other move. ![]() Welcome to Week 7, everyone! We would also like to remind players to submit all of their Chapter 6 PCs and new PCs at the Private Conversations page and review the weekly ooc notes for important details in the castle. Something odd will be arriving on Wednesday, July 25th so keep your eyes peeled for that as well.

I'm glad you started using my name, Goro.
Who are you writing? [Because that's a lot of letters.]
no subject
Beauty and Beast. Monika. 2B. Jae-Ha-san. Sousei-san. El Melloi. Natsuo.
[hesitation]
. . . Varian-san and Soo-Won. Zelos-san, and Hansen. Many people who likely won't wish to hear from me now.
no subject
She nods the the first part of his list, she was going to write to them too but... the back half sounds questionable.]
You can always send the letters. It just doesn't mean they'll send anything back.
no subject
[despite his slew of bad choices, he isn't an idiot]
It's fine if they don't.
no subject
[She'll start her first letter, clearly to Natsuo.]
no subject
I don't particularly need their validation.
[he says a little halfheartedly. their validation, no. validation of certain others? . . . maybe]
no subject
Then you're doing a lot better than me. I was always looking for validation in people who never wanted to give it.
no subject
Seek it only from people who matter to you. Everyone else is dirt beneath your feet.
[HM]
no subject
That's the problem. He did matter to me. I just didn't matter to him.
[Obviously she's not talking about Natsuo.]
no subject
[yeah, obviously not. Natsuo cared about them all]
no subject
My dad. I used to write him letters all the time.
I never got anything back. Guess I didn't deserve them.
no subject
[he scowls at that]
Don't be stupid. He didn't deserve you.
[it's not every day that he gives that kind of validation so easily, but. hey. daddy issues!1]
no subject
Surprise is clear, before she settles on a wry smile.]
You know, for almost thirty years I thought I was the one that didn't deserve his love. There was obviously something wrong with me.
no subject
There isn't. Some fathers simply aren't worth the dirt of the ground they walk upon. It sounds as though your father was that way.
no subject
You're... wrong about me. There's definitely something wrong. I just... don't know what it is.
no subject
[THAT'S. . . not the way to approach it]
Who cares? That doesn't make your scum of a father any more worth your time.
[yikes. he's speaking so forcefully because it's clear some of his own issues are leaking into this conversation]
You have worth to people who are far better than he.
no subject
[As bad as she is at noticing other people's feelings, the fact his feelings are driving this... is totally lost on her.
She does latch onto the last part.]
... You really think so?
no subject
[he means that]
I suppose the days where I say things I don't mean are past me, now.
no subject
Then... Thanks for believing that.
[She looks off for a moment.]
When we get out of this, we really need to go to therapy. For real instead of canceling or leaving in the middle of sessions.
no subject
I don't know what a therapist can do for me.
[Akechi]
no subject
Don't knock it until you've tried it. Of course... you actually have to listen to them so they can help.
no subject
[like BEING AN ASSASSIN]
no subject
If you sit through the session.
[Said like a person who's only bothered to do that very recently.]
I mean you can totally leave stuff out. I did that too. Nobody's going to believe anything about murder castle, that's for sure.
no subject
They certainly won't believe anything about the "monster I can summon from my psyche," either.
