CHAPTER 3 ; TRIAL

The Story Continues...
CHAPTER 3 - WEEK 3
29 Narrators Remain ;
Wakey wakey, naughty murder children. It's a lovely Saturday, after all. Breakfast is served piping hot at its usual time and all of the evidence has been removed from the scenes of yesterday. No matter how you choose to spent your morning though, the clock will begin to chime the moment both hands reach the large, ornate twelve.

Before your eyes materializes a door...but not just any door. Unlike the door leading to the festival, this door sits primly and properly right in front of the foyer. Whether you exit the castle on your own or you feel a friendly, invisible push, you begin to walk under an arc of wisterias. Behind you, the clock continues to chime with every step you take.

By the time the time the clock strikes twelve, you've entered a beautiful garden. In front of you is a long table, 19 seats on each side. Around the garden are several glass cases containing evidence collected yesterday. As noon intensifies on the sun-shaped clock, you'll find Tiger at the head of the table, a glass-covered rose near her right hand.

Tick tock, Narrators. You have nine hours to deliberate.

Throughout today's trial, the delightful, delectable scent of freshly brewed coffee will linger in the air though there will be no coffee present. Instead, today's trial snacks include...finger foods.

axilium: (the plot thickens)

number of killers

[personal profile] axilium 2018-06-30 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
According to Tiger, there were two killers this week. When I asked if that included Hijikata, she just repeated "two".

So...
vigilantics: (and i don't really care.)

[personal profile] vigilantics 2018-06-30 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
So... the theory that someone was getting an objective out of the way is pretty likely.
axilium: (ARE YOU SURE)

[personal profile] axilium 2018-06-30 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Seems like it. That, or they get as many wishes for how many kills they make...
vigilantics: (i broke up with my boyfriend.)

[personal profile] vigilantics 2018-06-30 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
That's even worse.
toughchoices: (005)

[personal profile] toughchoices 2018-06-30 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[Reyna is silent for a few moments, before nodding.]

It looks that way. The answer has been "two" every week so far, hasn't it?
wagashis: (i could've dropped my croissant)

[personal profile] wagashis 2018-06-30 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
It has. If she wouldn't clarify further, then- is it possible that only the ones they chose count?
vigilantics: (be tormented by me babe.)

[personal profile] vigilantics 2018-06-30 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
If it is, we let someone get away the first week.
fonlines: (drenched in lies i falsely perceive)

[personal profile] fonlines 2018-06-30 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Miss Sharpay certainly stole all the attention, in the end, and we didn't know enough to question then...
vigilantics: (i'm too scared to try.)

[personal profile] vigilantics 2018-06-30 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah... and at this point I don't think we'll figure out anything from that week unless someone suddenly confesses.
discardia: (The pick-up lines they hurt)

[personal profile] discardia 2018-06-30 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Weren't there more once? We never found Dave's killer.
vigilantics: (begged you to stay.)

[personal profile] vigilantics 2018-06-30 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
The trend seems to be Blotters comes in pairs, so I assume Dave's killer was someone else entirely.
resumed: (chat ♕ that aside)

[personal profile] resumed 2018-06-30 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I think so. [He frowns though.] But do we know if all three kills were done together? Maybe our killers worked together but then someone went rogue?
function: as you like it (1.3.482) (her very silence and her patience)

[personal profile] function 2018-06-30 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[ of course there are ]

I'm impressed you always manage to ask right on time.
axilium: (... hurt someone for free)

[personal profile] axilium 2018-06-30 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Not like we're getting anywhere right now.
doublecrows: (Default)

additionally

[personal profile] doublecrows 2018-06-30 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I dusted the hilt of the katana for fingerprints. It's completely clean. Which could mean a multitude of things.
axilium: (which is in development hell)

[personal profile] axilium 2018-06-30 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
So, not even glove prints?
disclosures: (7)

[personal profile] disclosures 2018-06-30 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Do gloves leave prints?
axilium: (the plot thickens)

[personal profile] axilium 2018-06-30 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Some gloves would.
disclosures: (4)

[personal profile] disclosures 2018-06-30 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Can we check the people who wear gloves?
doublecrows: (pic#12330137)

[personal profile] doublecrows 2018-06-30 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
There were a few smudge marks, but they're unidentifiable. I can't tell if they're fingerprints or glove prints, truthfully.
alttitude: (» by the beard of zeus!)

[personal profile] alttitude 2018-06-30 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
So it's... inconclusive?

[he just learned about fingerprints last week

and the information is already useless]
doublecrows: (pic#12330162)

[personal profile] doublecrows 2018-06-30 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[you're welcome, Jae-Ha]

That's correct. Fingerprinting isn't an end all, be all solution to every mystery.
Edited 2018-06-30 22:43 (UTC)
alttitude: (» where'd you get the hand grenade?)

i def tried to tag you with the typo bc i thought akechi was being sassy

[personal profile] alttitude 2018-06-30 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I won't lie that I was hopeful.

Though I suppose that now that we received a lesson on it, people would be mindful. So does that mean gloves, like Belph implied? Or they can be wiped away with enough force?
doublecrows: (pic#12295234)

AJSDPOFIJAS I MEAN HE WOULD BE SASSY ABOUT IT

[personal profile] doublecrows 2018-06-30 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Fingerprints can be wiped away with enough force, yes. That could explain the smudges, although it would also imply that someone was aware enough to know they left prints behind to clear them afterwards.

But they could also be glove smudges, or smudges from hands that don't leave behind prints. At this point, who can say?
alttitude: (» i done fell and busted my ass)

[personal profile] alttitude 2018-06-30 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[ . . . . ]

Ah.

So there's no reason to proceed with printing, is there? [he sounds sincerely confused. please correct him akechi] I suppose it's just a matter of trying to discern between those who wear gloves, those who would think to remember to wipe away the marks, or who simply wouldn't be able to leave prints behind at all.

Is that correct?

Having to decide based on someone's aptitude unless we can think of anything else....

[it doesn't sit well with him]
