The Story Continues...
CHAPTER 3 - WEEK 329 Narrators Remain ;

Wakey wakey, naughty murder children. It's a lovely Saturday, after all. Breakfast is served piping hot at its usual time and all of the evidence has been removed from the scenes of yesterday. No matter how you choose to spent your morning though, the clock will begin to chime the moment both hands reach the large, ornate twelve.

Before your eyes materializes a door...but not just any door. Unlike the door leading to the festival, this door sits primly and properly right in front of the foyer. Whether you exit the castle on your own or you feel a friendly, invisible push, you begin to walk under an arc of wisterias. Behind you, the clock continues to chime with every step you take.

By the time the time the clock strikes twelve, you've entered a beautiful garden. In front of you is a long table, 19 seats on each side. Around the garden are several glass cases containing evidence collected yesterday. As noon intensifies on the sun-shaped clock, you'll find Tiger at the head of the table, a glass-covered rose near her right hand.

Tick tock, Narrators. You have nine hours to deliberate.

Throughout today's trial, the delightful, delectable scent of freshly brewed coffee will linger in the air though there will be no coffee present. Instead, today's trial snacks include...finger foods.

I suppose that's a question for the Crafters. Unrelated to this trial, perhaps, but important nonetheless.

... That's right. We've got three categories, don't we?

But doesn't everything turn into black ink when it's mixed?

Perhaps we need to make sure that not everyone from any one category dies, then, if we require all three to make black.

... Compared to abilities, I didn't think sharing titles was as big of a deal, but if the happy ending requires taking out a certain number of people from one section, I doubt anyone's gonna be as free sharing that information.

I meant... it isn't necessary yet, perhaps, but if it should turn out that we dwindle down to only one villain, or civilian, or hero...

It might be important to try to protect them?

Yeah, it might.

But it's just conjecture until we get a better sense of what's gonna help or hurt in the long run. [Rubbing his neck] That's the shitty part about it. I think most of us would like this happy ending, but how we go about it is the confusing part.

Let's not do that.

Oi now, I'm not suggesting it.

But if even one person decides that's what the happy ending means, people are gonna be way more careful from here on out.

I'm sure most people mustn't have told their title to at least one other person at this point.

So... I guess it just depends on if you told the right people.

It does. I can't begin to fathom what that bit of symbolism means, though.

To be honest, I just thought it turned into regular black ink...

Then again, I hadn't kept up on the number of people who died in each category.

That is what the list of titles is for. Counting Monika and Hijikata from this week, since we don't know Fitzgerald's title: two heroes, three civilians, and four villains have died.

According to Ion, he's the Little Match Girl. It's three deaths in each category, I think...?

Only if you discount Natsuo's death. I don't, since the Crafters took ink from him regardless.

Right, four if you include Natsuo. Think you mislabelled Monika as a civilian in your first count, though.

It's actually been pretty equal so far. Prior to this week's deaths, we had eleven heroes and villains and ten civilians left. So... minus one on all of them.

Then there's always a chance that the black ink could change color depending on if more or less heroes, villains, and civilians die.

We had only gold and purple ink mixed that first week, with more gold than purple, so it's not necessary to be all three colors or an equal amount, but I do believe mixing could be important. Not to mention we've had killers from all categories pretty equally.

Yeah, and the latter seems to just be a coincidence, so no telling what might happen from here on out.

... You think if the Villains "win", that's bad for us?

[Does this mean they need the Heroes to "win"? And what about the Civilians? He so confused.]
