CHAPTER 2 ; INVESTIGATION
CHAPTER 2 - WEEK 2 The clock begins to chime, and on the first note, curfew lifts. Your doors swing open, whether you are ready or not. Leaving your room is a blur. The person you fell asleep beside — are they still there? Have they vanished? Were they ever there at all? You can't seem to recall clearly. What you are most aware of is the pervading sense of wrongness in the air, and how you can't hear anything but the chime of the clock. Even the sounds of your own voice and your own footsteps do not reach your ears. By the time the time the clock strikes nine, you know one thing to be true: blood has been spilt. Search the castle carefully — you wouldn't want to miss a single important detail, would you...?  Welcome to this week's investigation post! This time, you all will be posting your own locations that you wish to search. Please note the Locations page for your reference. Evidence — or lack thereof — will be noted in these threads. We ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters. After the discovery of the body (or bodies) and any pertinent evidence, an IC announcement concluding the investigation will go up. You are then free to make your own toplevels on this post for any threads you would like to have between the end of the investigation and the start of the trial. Their first clue: a gigantic crystal chandelier, which one would expect to be hanging far above their heads, has crashed to the ground. Some bits of metal have broken off, but there seems to be a fair amount of purple ink under it and around it...

Also there's what looks like a body under it. Maybe someone should move the thing to get a closer look.]

that's So Much and jae-ha sticks close by steph so that she can't mysteriously break another fucking leg somehow but he will just. go to look closer?
he's mindful to not actually step on anything broken or uh. inky and try to just pick the thing up with both hands to see who or what might be underneath?]

Once the chandelier is lifted, the identity of the body on the floor becomes more clear.
Natsuo is dead.

He's got the kinds of wounds one would expect from having a chandelier dropped onto them, and there's purple ink seeping out around the knife in his back. Yikes! Does he look for injuries in any specific location?
Steph, meanwhile, may note that there's a wallet at Natsuo's feet. ...there's also a sword impaled into a contraption across the room that looks like it has some kind of handle. That might be worth a closer look.]

But while he's moving things around, he may notice a few flecks of regular blood by the chandelier. Hmm! His own blood, if he cuts himself, will join it momentarily, but... it was definitely there before his was.
Steph, hobbling over to the sword in device on the wall, will likely note the hilt first. It's sort of pointy.
As she approaches the wall, she also may notice three things... one, there are singe marks on it (and matching singe marks on the other walls). Two, there's a fire striker nearby - in fact, she may have to be careful to keep from tripping on it. Three, there's a little glint of something small and metallic on the ground near the wall.]

He doesn't feel right putting Natsuo back on the inky ground either so until magic poofs him away, this is what we have.]
