The Story Continues... CHAPTER 1 - WEEK 1??? Narrators Remain ; The clock begins to chime, and on the first note, curfew lifts. Your doors swing open, whether you are ready or not. Leaving your room is a blur. The person you fell asleep beside — are they still there? Have they vanished? Were they ever there at all? You can't seem to recall clearly. What you are most aware of is the pervading sense of wrongness in the air, and how you can't hear anything but the chime of the clock. Even the sounds of your own voice and your own footsteps do not reach your ears. By the time the time the clock strikes nine, you know one thing to be true: blood has been spilt. Search the castle carefully — you wouldn't want to miss a single important detail, would you...? Welcome to this week's investigation post! This time, you all will be posting your own locations that you wish to search. Please note the Locations page for your reference. Evidence — or lack thereof — will be noted in these threads. We ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters. After the discovery of the body (or bodies) and any pertinent evidence, an IC announcement concluding the investigation will go up. You are then free to make your own toplevels on this post for any threads you would like to have between the end of the investigation and the start of the trial. [Good morning friends. It's time for breakfast, under the watchful eye of the Classics tapestries! They're all dripping ink, and two of them are burnt.

...

Wait, those weren't like that earlier in the week. Surprise! Kyouka and Nico's tapestries are singed!]

[ there's a squinting double take. ]

-- Uh. Were those burnt before and I just never noticed?

[ is there any noticeable source of the burning? ]

[ Ann looks up, letting Magnus direct her attention. Her breath seems to hitch a bit when she sees it. ]

Uh...

[ she looks around in case she needs to put out a fire? ]

[Nothing is currently burning, at least!

...but there is some ash from the tapestries mixed in with the ink. Gross.

Do Magnus and Ann look anywhere else?]

Frigg, I hope that doesn't mean they got burned to death or something.

[ no they just leave

just kidding, will continue to look around. for bodies, food, and clues. in that order? so how's the table looking? ]

[varas]

[ Ann will open a pantry, her steps still a bit sluggish. Please let there not be a body in it! ]

[No bodies in the pantry! Solid choice, Ann.

There's nothing on the table when Magnus looks. At least, not at first. But when he blinks, suddenly... there is! Whatever food and drink he and Ann might be craving right about now?

It's there.

Right there.

Practically begging them to partake.

Maybe the castle is taking pity on them since it's past breakfast time.]

[ well magnus always craves falafel so, yay?

he'll take one while ducking down to check beneath the table. multitasking! unless there's a body in which case: puking! ]

[varas]

[ Ann sees a little breakfast cake drizzled in honey and a steaming cup of hot chocolate, and she will gladly partake in both. The drink is half-drained before she sets it down and continues her search, breakfast cake shoved partway into her mouth. Ann peers in any other shadowy nooks and crannies available.

At the same time, she asks Magnus a question, her words pummeled by the cake in her mouth. ]

n'anyfen?

[ Translation: "Find anything?" ]

[Enjoy your falafel, honey cake, and hot chocolate, you two. The rest of the food vanishes before they'll be able to come back to it. It will fill them up for about the next hour or so, but after that, they'll remain hungry no matter how much they eat throughout the day.

Other than that...

No bodies! No clues! It looks like just the burned tapestries is all.]

[wearys]

[ oh god damn it you rude ass castle ]

Nope, all clear. Just the weird thing with the tapestries.

[varas]

And the food's gone, too...

[ :( ]

Guess we should go see if anyone else's found a dead body or something. At least it doesn't look like there's a body in every room like last week?

[ Ann smothers another yawn, nodding agreeably despite the sleep in her eyes and the cracks in her voice. The hot chocolate could only do so much. ]

Yeah, I guess that's a small victory. Come on, let's go see how everyone else is doing.

[ No promises she won't, like, fall asleep on his back midway. ]

[wearys]

[ if she needs to pass out he can always give her a piggy-back ride, obviously ]

Yeah, alright. If you don't pass out first.

[ she would love a piggyback ride, lbr ]
