PROLOGUE - WEEK 037 Narrators Remain ;

Wakey wakey, naughty murder children. It's a lovely Saturday, after all. Breakfast is served piping hot at its usual time and all of the evidence has been removed from the scenes of yesterday. No matter how you choose to spent your morning though, the clock will begin to chime the moment both hands reach the large, ornate twelve.

Before your eyes materializes a door...but not just any door. Unlike the door leading to the festival, this door sits primly and properly right in front of the foyer. Whether you exit the castle on your own or you feel a friendly, invisible push, you begin to walk under an arc of wisterias. Behind you, the clock continues to chime with every step you take.

By the time the time the clock strikes twelve, you've entered a beautiful garden. In front of you is a long table, 19 seats on each side. Around the garden are several glass cases containing evidence collected yesterday. As noon intensifies on the sun-shaped clock, you'll find Dragon at the head of the table, a glass-covered rose near her right hand.

Tick tock, Narrators. You have nine hours to deliberate.

Hey, Jae-Ha and Sharpay. What were the two of you doing right before curfew again?

I was with Sanji up until it was time to return to the sleeping chambers... I wanted to tell Miss Sharpay that I was going to leave for curfew, to see what would happen, and she convinced me out of it.

Okay, cool. And Sanji can confirm this.

[jae-ha goes to look for sanji and honestly:]

If public knowledge of our time together doesn't embarrass you.

I'll try not to clutch my pearls too much.

I went to find Akechi because I wanted to speak to him.

Did you find him? And what did you want to talk about?

I did! And...well. Akechi's clearly one of the most interesting people here. [Deductive, actually, but details.] We've spoken before and I was interested in anything he might have learned about the castle.

I see. And how long did you talk? Akechi, can you confirm this?

Quite a while? We had a lot to discuss. [And she turns.] Akechi? [Confirm/deny?]

[what if he denies it to be an asshole]

Evans is telling the truth. We spoke for quite some time concerning our impressions of the manor and the people within it.

Evans is quite the conversationalist.

Oh, and what were your impressions?

And where did you go, after your conversation?

I went back to my room and that was when I met Jae-Ha. We spoke, and he wanted to leave to stay out past curfew but it was too dangerous. He'd promised me he wouldn't so that he would stay safe.

And you're saying you two both just stayed in after that, as far as you remember? [ hmm. ] Are you sure you weren't telling him to stay in so he wouldn't catch you in the act?

[ rather than accusatory, he just sounds matter-of-fact. he wants to figure this out, dammit. ]

[She turns to face him, quiet for a moment like she's trying to compose her thoughts.]

Of course not. I wanted him to stay because I was afraid he would get hurt even if he said he would be fine. We're partners, aren't we? Wouldn't you protect yours?

What I would do is irrelevant. You're under suspicion right now, so I have to work with the assumption you're willing to kill these people.

I have an interest in staying alive. Why would I kill someone and risk my own life, or his?

Because those two [ gesturing to Tiger and Dragon ] offered you something worth more than your life. Or his. Immortality? Wealth? Power? Revenge? There's a thousand things any human would kill for.

I immediately returned to my room, and remained there for the rest of the evening. Tenshouin was there with me.

I don't know where Evans went after we parted.
