The Story Continues... PROLOGUE - WEEK 037 Narrators Remain ; Wakey wakey, naughty murder children. It's a lovely Saturday, after all. Breakfast is served piping hot at its usual time and all of the evidence has been removed from the scenes of yesterday. No matter how you choose to spent your morning though, the clock will begin to chime the moment both hands reach the large, ornate twelve. Before your eyes materializes a door...but not just any door. Unlike the door leading to the festival, this door sits primly and properly right in front of the foyer. Whether you exit the castle on your own or you feel a friendly, invisible push, you begin to walk under an arc of wisterias. Behind you, the clock continues to chime with every step you take. By the time the time the clock strikes twelve, you've entered a beautiful garden. In front of you is a long table, 19 seats on each side. Around the garden are several glass cases containing evidence collected yesterday. As noon intensifies on the sun-shaped clock, you'll find Dragon at the head of the table, a glass-covered rose near her right hand. Tick tock, Narrators. You have nine hours to deliberate. That's what I'm wondering too. There were a few of you, which suggests either more than one assailant or someone really wanted to cover their tracks.

Magnus and I found Reyna pretty close to our room, but we didn't hear a commotion or anything before. Not even from her dog.

Oh, naturally. Why reveal a "trump card"-- [air quotes] -- so early, when it's far more beneficial to the single individual to keep it hidden?

I suppose what I said was just a bit of wishful thinking.

Yikes. I hadn't thought of that... maybe the mirrors could show us all the dresses that were taken, and see if we spot one that's covered in ink?

We can just avoid making things that need carving until we get some of the knives back, maybe.

Centuries, perhaps, but it may well be aeons. Who can know, really?

[ It took that long for things to change drastically for him, after all. But. He shrugs ]

Well, yes, but I was thinking the opposite case. Even if you're quite innocent, so long as the judge assumes your guilt, then you're left in prison to rot or you're summarily executed. It depends on the crime, naturally, but death is a quick solution to the problem. The quickest, really.

[It appears to be a sword! It wasn't so much put back hastily as it was bumped into and knocked ajar, most likely in the haste of stuffing a body in the armor.]

The wound looks like a puncture wound, rather than a stab wound. It's not large in diameter.]

They're in my room, if you're worried about them.

I don't think any of them can inflict wounds though. So even if somebody took new clothes to kill, they wouldn't be the murder weapon.

Unless they're more than just clothes.

We certainly are. Not that I believe it impossible, but it'll take time to sort the irrelevant missing objects from the relevant ones.

And besides, a murder happened. If there was ever a time to get paranoid and arm yourself, it's now.

Reyna, your dog...if someone attacked you, would it have attacked them? It seems quite protective of you, you know. And as far as I've heard, it was found around you when you were discovered.

I was with her for dinner - and walked her to her room at 7 PM.

But I'm afraid your suspicion is correct. The last thing I remember is trying to fall asleep in my room.

I hope someone knows. It's my leading guess on the murder weapon.

We know Varian has one. Maybe he'll lend it out?

Was there anything amiss with her? And did she mention she was meeting anybody afterwards?

If it's in a bowl of soup, I don't think I would have noticed if someone fed me ink.

[ But he's also dumb, so, moving on- ]

What about when she's asleep? Is she a heavy sleeper?

Trying? ... Were you having trouble getting to sleep?

... Would we be able to get a good scale of size?

Like, I wouldn't be able to fit into any of 'em, so it could narrow down the list if we were lucky.
