The Story Continues... CHAPTER 3 - WEEK 3??? Narrators Remain ; The clock begins to chime, and on the first note, curfew lifts. Your doors swing open, whether you are ready or not. Leaving your room is a blur. The person you fell asleep beside — are they still there? Have they vanished? Were they ever there at all? You can't seem to recall clearly. What you are most aware of is the pervading sense of wrongness in the air, and how you can't hear anything but the chime of the clock. Even the sounds of your own voice and your own footsteps do not reach your ears. By the time the time the clock strikes nine, you know one thing to be true: blood has been spilt. Search the castle carefully — you wouldn't want to miss a single important detail, would you...? Welcome to this week's investigation post! This time, the mods will be providing top-levels for you to search. Please note the Locations page for your reference. Evidence — or lack thereof — will be noted in these threads. We ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters. After the discovery of the body (or bodies) and any pertinent evidence, an IC announcement concluding the investigation will go up. [So far, so good in the tailor's. Nothing seems to be missing from the racks of clothing - they're all reasonably full, with no missing hangars. Likewise, the spinning wheels are (thankfully) not moving on their own today, and none of the baskets of wool seem to have been knocked over or anything.]

Ergh, after we found a body in the morning? Absolutely not.

I guess people are getting braver about killing.

[She... hates saying that.

But she'll go to the mannequins, checking if they're missing anything.]

[hmmm. . . Akechi's gaze grows distant, thoughtful]

It's risky to commit such a crime in the middle of the day. Whoever targeted that victim must be extremely confident in themselves.

[and Akechi meanders to the western wall to examine those needles]

[The mannequins have not been raided this week! Small blessings. One of them is wearing a lovely collared necklace that might look nice on Rebecca, though.

Akechi, looking at the needles, will find that there are five individual cases labeled "knitting needles" and a handful of small boxes that claim to hold sewing needles. Which will he look at first?]

It could be that. Or it they could be expecting there would be another body to take up our attention. Didn't that happen to Dave?

[She'll open up the western wooden trunk.]

Yes, that's precisely what happened to Dave. We still don't know his cause of death.

[the knitting needle cases first! all five of 'em]

[Inside the western wooden trunk, Rebecca will find more women's accessories! She can sort through them, but she'll just find more jewelry and shoes, each one more fashionable than the last.

The first four cases Akechi opens contain knitting needles! The last is empty.]

So it wasn't either of you?

[She'll walk over to the eastern trunk and pop it open.

Right now she's humming something completely off key. Even if they find evidence here, she doesn't think she'll find a body.]

It wasn't. The only victim Takamaki and myself targeted that week was Soo-Won.

Someone took a set of knitting needles.

[examining the small sewing needle boxes next]

[The eastern trunk is full of men's accessories - dress shoes, cuff links, tie pins, and so on. There's a nice-looking pocketwatch in there, too. It's a shame there's no one to sell it to; it would probably fetch a pretty penny.

Nothing seems to be missing from the sewing needle boxes!]

[Rebecca's not wanting for cash, so she just leaves the pocketwatch where it was.

She'll make her way over to Akechi.]

Think they were used to kill?

[a sigh, and he closes the last of the sewing needle boxes]

Difficult to say. We have found items missing that were completely unrelated to the murders. I suppose we'll need to see all of the evidence to know that.

[TO THE PREMADE FABRICS NEXT, he's being thorough! anything else obviously amiss in here]

[None of the fabrics seem to have been disturbed! But as he's looking through the rolls of fabric, he may note that there are a few baskets nearby that hold skeins of yarn.]

[CHECKING THOSE NEXT. can't pull one over this detective's eyes!!]

[She'll tilt some of them over and look at the baskets.]

There's a lot more yarn than I thought there would be.

[One of the baskets is half-empty! ...strangely enough, all of the yarn here sems to be light colored. The dark-colored yarn is nowhere to be found.]

Truthfully, from the missing knitting needles and missing dark-colored yarn, I'd deduce that someone here. . .





. . . has decided to make a sweater.

Is it even the right temperature for sweater knitting? I hope they were making it for themselves- does anybody knit? That's for old people.

[She'll at least look over the tables in the middle of the room.]

[Nothing seems out of place about the room in general or the tables at a glance!]

"Fun" is in the eye of the beholder. Don't you think you're being a bit judgmental?

[actually he's gonna meander over to the areas Rebecca examined, specifically the eastern trunk full of men's accessories. mostly so he can pick up that pocket watch and flip it over and examine it more closely]

[But she'll just follow him over, why not.]

[The pocketwatch doesn't have anything on the back! It's just there, and shiny. Is Akechi going to sell it? Will he become the castle's new capitalist scum?]
