The Story Continues... CHAPTER 3 - WEEK 3??? Narrators Remain ; The clock begins to chime, and on the first note, curfew lifts. Your doors swing open, whether you are ready or not. Leaving your room is a blur. The person you fell asleep beside — are they still there? Have they vanished? Were they ever there at all? You can't seem to recall clearly. What you are most aware of is the pervading sense of wrongness in the air, and how you can't hear anything but the chime of the clock. Even the sounds of your own voice and your own footsteps do not reach your ears. By the time the time the clock strikes nine, you know one thing to be true: blood has been spilt. Search the castle carefully — you wouldn't want to miss a single important detail, would you...? Welcome to this week's investigation post! This time, the mods will be providing top-levels for you to search. Please note the Locations page for your reference. Evidence — or lack thereof — will be noted in these threads. We ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters. After the discovery of the body (or bodies) and any pertinent evidence, an IC announcement concluding the investigation will go up. You are then free to make your own toplevels on this post for any threads you would like to have between the end of the investigation and the start of the trial. There's a boy here, Varian. If I remember what Lady Rapunzel told me, he practices alchemy-- therefore he's probably capable of using it as well.

Oh, absolutely. Why, I taught him how to brew a few potions that I'm familiar with, as surprisingly, there were the properly ingredients.

[ And in fact, Fane actually sounds a little less acerbic and rude and more... proud? ]

He's surprisingly sharp.

[The shelves seem rather well-organized - the music is in alphabetical order by composer, then by song title. There's quite an impressive array of songs here, too! ...nothing particularly helpful for figuring out who deda, though.

Shirasu, while looking at the instruments, will find that nothing there seems particularly out of place either! There are two violins in the batch that have tuning forks nearby; another is alone. Hm.

The equipment Nico is checking is mostly in good condition. There are spare strings for guitars, violins, and other stringed instruments, some oils and cleaning clothes for polishing horns, and three boxes labeled "tuning forks".]

[Honestly every time she sees him alive and breathing she's amazed. Another week nobody's tried to knife him.

[ Sadly, there is not a helpful sheet of music labeled "BY THE WAY SOMEONE'S GONE AND DIED", so Cardia will take a look at the chairs to see if they're out of place??

[So far, so good in the tailor's. Nothing seems to be missing from the racks of clothing - they're all reasonably full, with no missing hangars. Likewise, the spinning wheels are (thankfully) not moving on their own today, and none of the baskets of wool seem to have been knocked over or anything.]

It looks about the same, to me.

[but he's going to take a look at those violins, both the ones with the forks nearby and the one without. anything going on there, or did someone just not put their forks away?

sanji would have a fit if these were a different kind of fork.]

[F...ortunately for them, they don't even have to get to the bathhouse to realize that something is amiss. As they head toward it they'll notice something just past the batthhouse, on the stairs that lead up to the fourth floor.]

[This isn't going to be fortunate, is it.]

Guess I'm not bathing today...

[He goes to check out that 'something' more closely.]

Ergh, after we found a body in the morning? Absolutely not.

I guess people are getting braver about killing.

[She... hates saying that.

But she'll go to the mannequins, checking if they're missing anything.]

[ side eye. ]

You're going to get yourself killed talking like that.

[ whatever! he pushes open the door to creepy puppet hell and hopes a spooky fire doesn't jump out at him. ]

[As soon as they get inside, they'll be assaulted by a heavy cloud of smoke and a dim orange glow, suggesting that something further in is still burning. That might be their first priority.]

And I was hoping we could have Friday off this week. To make up for yesterday.

[Well, the good (?) news is there's no obvious blood in the armory! Natsuo, as he's digging through the weapons for the gauntlets, will knock aside a wooden shield, a rusted dagger, a shiny katana, and two half-rotted arrows. Yikes! Looks like someone here really doesn't care about organization!]

[He'll start opening the boxes and sorting through everything just in case someone haphazardly dumped a weapon in there.]

It looks pretty clear here, too. [He sounds a little uncertain though.] Have either of you been in here before today?

[Oh, uh. Sorry, Steph. The kitchen's island is absolutely on fire, so Sanji probably won't get all the way over to the oven. Probably deal with that?]

[hmmm. . . Akechi's gaze grows distant, thoughtful]

It's risky to commit such a crime in the middle of the day. Whoever targeted that victim must be extremely confident in themselves.

[and Akechi meanders to the western wall to examine those needles]

[he reaches up to cover his nose and mouth with his sleeve. he takes a step in, though, before stopping.]

I'm getting we don't have a freakin' extinguisher around here, do we...!?
