The Story Continues... CHAPTER 2 - WEEK 2??? Narrators Remain ; The clock begins to chime, and on the first note, curfew lifts. Your doors swing open, whether you are ready or not. Leaving your room is a blur. The person you fell asleep beside — are they still there? Have they vanished? Were they ever there at all? You can't seem to recall clearly. What you are most aware of is the pervading sense of wrongness in the air, and how you can't hear anything but the chime of the clock. Even the sounds of your own voice and your own footsteps do not reach your ears. By the time the time the clock strikes nine, you know one thing to be true: blood has been spilt. Search the castle carefully — you wouldn't want to miss a single important detail, would you...? Welcome to this week's investigation post! This time, you all will be posting your own locations that you wish to search. Please note the Locations page for your reference. Evidence — or lack thereof — will be noted in these threads. We ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters. After the discovery of the body (or bodies) and any pertinent evidence, an IC announcement concluding the investigation will go up. [ the last thing waver wants is for the library to be defiled so...he is going to go there as soon as the curfew is lifted.

waver himself looks as serious as always, albeit still sleepy, walking quietly into the place. ]

[ here's an ion, wandering in in a similar state of semi-alert torpor. it's not like he spent most of the week living and napping in the library or anything, right? ]

[ waver notices ion walking in and he gives him a nod in his direction. ]

I would say good morning...although I highly doubt today will be able to be called "good".

[Two bookworms walk into a library ... or did they ever leave it?

Anyway, it looks normal enough at first. Nothing in particular stands out - they may need to take a closer look at some of the shelves to see if anything is amiss.]

[ ion stifles a yawn in the way of someone who has not entirely shaken off the veil of sleep does before inclining his head right back. ]

We are on quite a clockwork schedule week after week, aren't we...

Still. It isn't as if it's wrong to greet each other for the morning, even if today is what it is.

[ with that said, he'll start by looking over the shelves he can reach! ]

I suppose you're not wrong. Seeing you alive today is already a source of relief on its own. [ he gives ion a small smile. ]

That said, we must focus on seeing if everything is alright in this place.

[ so he'll begin taking a close look at the shelves, looking for anything that might be amiss. it's a good thing he's a lot taller than ion, too. more space ]

[Waver, being taller, will be able to see the shelves up top - where the "A"s are. Everything has been put away carefully, but there's a pretty glaring gap between two books by Hans Christian Andersen.

Further down the shelves, in Ion's reach, he'll see a gap between two collections by the Brothers Grimm. Hmm. Someone is doing research, maybe.]

Ah, I apologize if I've been a source of concern...

[ hm. that itself doesn't look extremely suspect, considering how many people he's seen come and go from the library this week, but sure.

let's feel around and check the gap closely anyway. maybe there's a stupid hidden passageway switch or something, or maybe someone was rude enough to hide something in the shelves. ]

There's no need to apologize; you've done nothing wrong. It is simply difficult not to have some concern over who the victim will be each week.

[ that said, waver will be aware of the gap between the books. he'll give it a once-over to check if there's something totally strange about it, but if there's not, he'll focus on ion. ]

[No hidden switches or anything - but it definitely looks like someone has absconded with the books that belong in those gaps! Hopefully they were nice and checked them out first.

Anyway, when they speak, suddenly they'll hear a noise.]

SHHH! This is a library!

[...but no one is there.

They'll be shushed again if they try to speak up while they look around, but they won't find anything else; the library is clear.]
