The Story Continues... END OF CHAPTER 1 - WEEK 134 Narrators Remain ; It's execution day, naughty murder children. Breakfast is served in the dining hall, all the better to fortify you for what is to come. Wherever you might wander in the castle, you will find yourself drawn to the foyer when the clock strikes not twelve, but ten. In the distance, there is the sound of clanking armor. Ann Takamaki appears, flanked on either side by suits of armor, escorting her to her punishment. She stares straight ahead with each step closer to the group that they take. A moment later, the Tiger appears on the foyer's staircase. Her hand trails down the banister as she sashays down it, and she takes her place at the head of the group, standing in front of what appears to be a wall. "Come along, darlings," she says. "The execution awaits." You blink, and then it's there — a door leading to the outside. The Tiger steps through it. You have no choice but to follow. Welcome to your second execution post! [ waver thinks on natsuo's response, checking closely to see if the boy's lying in any way...and then nods. ]

I see. Maybe being here finally cooled your temper a little. Many are distraught after the events of today. [ especially eichi, he thinks, but goes unsaid. he's sure natsuo understands that, too. ]

[randori]

[ He'd gone from furious to seething, quieter and under the surface, but no less angry. But the anger, just like at last week's execution, has been directed inward to fuel the determination he has to sort everything out and make things better. ]

Everybody here's nice to me, 'cause I'm like this. [ Shackled to the spot. He's sure that amongst the kindness, there is also pity. ] I'm not going to yell at them.

[londonstar]

They're not nice to you just because you're here, idiot.

[ waver rolls his eyes, just to emphasize how much he disagrees with natsuo's opinion ]

Some people have grown to care about you. And they loathe to see you act so self-destructively.

I don't act self-destructively!

[ Nothing of anything that'd happened was his fault?? The stabbing wasn't something he brought onto himself, in his opinion, and this whole voting for himself thing was just... He didn't know. ]

[londonstar]

Your stupidity is self-destructive. You can't let your emotions get the best of you like that! Idiot!

[ and waver's gonna flick his forehead. for being an idiot. ]

[randori]

[ Don't do that when he can't retaliate!! He squeezes his eyes shut at the flick, wooden stocks rattling as he strains against them. ]

They're not! I'm allowed to be pissed if something's pissing me off! You're pissing me off! There's nothing wrong with that!

[londonstar]

I'm pissing you off because I'm telling the truth!

[ and now he's getting pissed off too, dammit. he takes a moment to breathe, and calm down. ]

I'm not saying don't be angry. You deserve to feel angry and hurt. I'm saying don't let your anger get the best of you and do something stupid like what you did yesterday with the votes.

That was a calculated decision!

[ but man is he bad at math

For real, though, to vote for himself wasn't something done on impulse. He grits his teeth, knowing he's angry now, knowing he was angry back then, and the magnitude of both are comparable. ]

How was I supposed to know voting like that wouldn't slide?! The majority vote is all that counts! Whoever got chosen, Akechi would be damned-- I didn't want to be a part of that!

[londonstar]

Then you calculate like a damn third grader!

[ he puts a hand to his face, teeth grit. ]

He didn't die, as you can see. So what are you going to do now? And what are you going to do in the future, when we have to vote for another culprit?!

[randori]

[ Third grade is generous. ]

I'm going to figure it out! Make it so there's no culprits- no need for a culprit! I'm going to get stronger and I'll make everybody else get stronger too and we'll be able to fight back as a group instead of each other!

[londonstar]

[ that...statement actually makes waver visibly tense up. something so stupid...does the boy truly believe that he can accomplish that?! such naive thinking...

dammit, he knows who it reminds him of. and the memory alone makes waver groan, clearly unhappy. ]

Idiot. You're the stupidest person I've met in a long time. But-- [ he sighs, dragging the hand down his face. ] But I cannot laugh at it. I'll help you, if you need it.

[randori]

[ He doesn't even bat an eye at being called an idiot; he knows he is, he can accept that. It's the offer of help that he reacts to- a smile that he struggles to keep off his face so Waver won't yell at him again, but it reaches his eyes. ]

I said I'm going to be the one to help people. And that means you too. I'll take your help- I want to talk to you tonight, or whenever, as soon as possible! You can help me by letting me help you!

[londonstar]

I don't need help.

[ don't get hasty there, natsuo-- waver is still as (outwardly) callous as usual. it's just that today natsuo managed to press one of his nicer buttons ]

But if you want to do something stupid like that, then you're gonna need other people's help. You can't help everyone on your own.

[randori]

[ Hmph. Fine, he'll accept help- and that'd be a good enough sign that he knows he can't do everything on his own, even if he wants to. ]

Then. Go around and ask people what I can help them with. That's what I'm going to do- you can help be my data collector.

[ Put on that customer service smile, Waver, and go "Hi! What can I help you with? :)" ]

[londonstar]

[ he'd rather get pulled limb by limb instead of that tbh. ]

Don't order me around, brat. [ he pauses, glancing behind his shoulder and then back to natsuo. ] I'll see what I am able to do.
