END OF PROLOGUE ; EXECUTION

The Story Continues...
END OF PROLOGUE - WEEK 0
37 Narrators Remain ;
It's execution day, naughty murder children.

Breakfast is served in the dining hall, all the better to fortify you for what is to come. Wherever you might wander in the castle, you will find yourself drawn to the foyer when the clock strikes not twelve, but ten.

In the distance, there is the sound of clanking armor. Sharpay Evans appears, flanked on either side by suits of armor, escorting her to her punishment. She holds her head high, poised and controlled, acutely aware of all the eyes on her.

A moment later, the Dragon appears on the foyer's staircase. Her hand trails down the banister as she walks, and she takes her place at the head of the group, standing in front of what appears to be a wall.

"Come," she says. "The execution awaits."

You blink, and then it's there — a door leading to the outside. The Dragon steps through it. You have no choice but to follow.

Welcome to your first execution post!

Please see here for the results of yesterday's voting. We whole-heartedly encourage also taking the time to leave notes for the mods in the feedback plurk. In addition, make sure you fill out your CR Chart for the Prologue!

If you have any questions, please ask on our Discord server or ping us on plurk. Please direct pings for the NPC to Dana (Discord DMs preferred, then [plurk.com profile] decals), as she will be taking point for today's NPC, and the moderator team will be on deck for all other questions.

[Sandalphon turns around to leave after the gruesome display, but stops when he hears Akechi on his way past.]

I suppose that's one way to look at the outcome. Good work during the investigation.

[he slows to a stop, giving Sandalphon a purposefully rueful smile]

Thank you, although I think this result was gained through the hard work of others, and not myself.

[it doesn't look like that bothers him, but. when has Akechi ever let other people see how he truly feels about things?]

Such modesty. It was a team effort, was it not? You and the others collaborated splendidly.

[while he did nothing, so thanks]

It was. . . Takamaki, who brought up the final and most vital piece of evidence needed to implicate Evans.

[it's painful, being so humble??]

Your words are appreciated, but it would feel wrong for me to accept any credit.

[then why be humble]

If you insist. What did you think of the twist at the end?

[HE GOTTA, TO PRESERVE THE ACT]

. . . I did see it coming, partway through. Though I'm ashamed it was a twist at all. Based on my conversation with her the night before, I should have known.

Oh?

[teasing something like that, he'd better elaborate. or don't—that's okay, too]

[he droops]

There was ink on her arm. I assumed, because Gi-Gan's tapestry was leaking all week, that that's where it came from.

[Sandalphon, on the other hand, smiles as he lowers his voice]

Hm . . . Seems to me like your pride is wounded.

[a wry laugh]

Ahaha. . . perhaps it is. As a trained detective, I should know better.

Sometimes, it's the obvious that eludes us. Better luck next time.

[WHY DOES THAT MAKE HIM BRISTLE]

It isn't a matter of luck. But thank you; I will do better from here on out.

[oops]

Mm, you're right. I apologize: that was the wrong thing to say. All the same, I'm glad to hear it.
